Hi Owen, I've temporarily shared my very-much-in-progress prototype storymap to illustrate the chart in popups problem: https://arcg.is/1594bq for the storymap. temporarily shared web map viewed on ArcGIS: https://arcg.is/1vGr450 The Sidecar in question is more than half-way through the storymap. The popups in the 7th slide (heading is Bills of Mortality), see the Column chart for St Olave, Hart Street parish in StoryMap and compare to the same parish web map. Compare to St De'nis Backchurch (and others). In the 8th slide (on 1665 Great Plague), view the Line chart for St Olave, compare StoryMap and Web Map. Compare to St De'nis Backchurch (and others). I've attached some screenshots taken using Safari - using my desktop machine. I had done a lot of fiddling but had spent ages and was reluctant to do any more changes, and since I'm just using a public account and am pretty much winging it, wanted to quit while I was ahead. Thanks arcgis storymap safari browser Mia

Hi Owen, I didn't report the charts/filters issues because initially I thought it was something I was doing incorrectly (and maybe still is). After battling with it for a while, I viewed my StoryMap popups and compared them to the filter layers/charts with the map popups in ArcGIS online, where I saw that they rendered fully, and correctly. I shrugged and had to press on. But at that time I was also using Apple's wireless Magic Mouse which has a mind of its own. For working in ArcGIS Storymaps I've since switched to a Logitech cordless with scroll wheel which is much better suited, and that has eliminated some variables. If I still have those layers/popups around in a storymap and am able to locate them, I'll post back to you. Thanks -- Mia

If it's any consolation, I have many of these same problems using Safari. I often have to "Clear history (today)" and refresh the page, which usually fixes things, but not always. I switch to Chrome occasionally to see how differently it looks there. Mia

It seems to be related to Safari. I'm currently on my Mac desktop Mohave 10.14, using Safari 13, and have lots of issues with Storymaps when viewing in Safari: maps not rendering; filters not working; charts not rendering correctly when underlying data is fine, etc. Just today when viewing ESRI StoryMap team's (Farm) Animal Planet, the map in the Sidecar remains static when I view using my desktop machine -- but on my iPad Pro, the same map does change. I'm looking through the ESRI StoryMap Team collection of Storymaps for 2019 put together by Hannah Wilber -- Specifically looking at (Farm) Animal Planet: https://storymaps.arcgis.com/collections/9d81757581bb4be68ce8de1510bbf923/present?item=1 Using Safari 13.05 (Mac desktop, OSMohave 10.14) the map in the Sidecar remains static. It doesn't change while the text scrolls by (I think there are about 6 slides?) I cleared Safari cookies and tried again. Nada. I opened Chrome to view the same StoryMap - there is no problem with Chrome -- the map densities change accordingly. Is this is Known Issue with the ArcGis StoryMap Sidecar -- but only when using Safari? Mia

Hi again, Getting "unexpected error" when trying to reposition/save maps -- (now using Chrome.) When in the Sidecar, sometimes "Place the map" does not work as expected -- doesn't save. Also maps stop rendering in the browser. Please see my tester storymap: https://arcg.is/GCbOq I have fewer issues when I use Chrome than when I use Safari, but still plenty of glitches. Can anyone weigh in? Thanks, Mia storymap problem

I'm using a public account, and I have been trying out the new ArcGIS StoryMaps since the fall. I'm using a desktop MacOS Mohave 10.14.6. I switched from Safari to Chrome, so at least now I get fewer "unexpected errors" (I reported a few months ago). However, since the January 2020 ArcGis StoryMap update, a few new glitches: 1) Search tab for Living Atlas gives "no results" when trying to insert a map. ?? 2) After inserting a map, the little editing pen has disappeared after I insert a map and want to edit the layers. ?? See my tester storymap which contains the problems and screenshots. https://arcg.is/GCbOq Are these known issues? Is it just my setup? storymap problem Thanks, Mia

I thought it had been possible to browse through public Flickr accounts, click on an album, find a desired image, and pull that image into a storymap (using the built-in Flickr integration). I can only get the Flickr integration to work for some public accounts e.g. albums curated by BioDivLibrary. But it is not working with albums at The Library of Congress’s albums | Flickr nor at the British Library (e.g. Mechanical Curator album). Does the capability depend on the Flickr account holder (e.g., Library of Congress)? Or something else? Thanks, Mia storymap flickr

Hi Rachel, Chrome worked fine today -- so ... I went back to Safari, cleared cookies and things are back to normal. Express maps are functioning, and I can insert a regular map just fine. All's well that ends well! Happy Thanksgiving, Mia

That's exactly the problem, Rachel, I cannot insert a map any longer - it won't save. When I try to insert a map, there is only a grayed out save, along with a live 'cancel'. I'm shut down for now, so will send a screenshot tomorrow. Thanks Mia

Hi Yes, when I go to get.webgl.org I see a spinning cube (running Safari 13.03 on my desktop Mac Mohave 10.14.6.). I'll revisit using Chrome and follow your steps -- will update my findings tomorrow. Thanks again Mia

I have been working for a few days trying to build a StoryMap using the new version (not the classic). Today I was making progress building a rudimentary express map in a sidecar. As I was working at this at some point I got "unexpected error" and I could no longer pull up the map in the window. I could see vesitiges of it (a box with my map legend inside the frame) but the map itself was not loading in the frame. I tried the 'search' feature but nothing happen works. I logged out, shut down, reloaded, etc. Still no map was loading in the frame. I deleted the chunk with the express map using the Remove Slide option. I copied the text chunks elsewhere so as not the lose them. I then deleted the sidecar, expecting to be able to recreate it along with the sidecar without too much work. However, now when I open this same StoryMap, the Express map function no longer works. I can choose to add an Express map and the frame for it appears, but no basemap appears. The icons are greyed out. I can live without an express map in this StoryMap, but it also seems that the regular 'insert a map' function is not working. My storymap isn't shared because its in development. It's located at https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=e9d36398d22243d1aa6872bf6b59c7ab I'm loathe to have to recreate the content using the new StoryMap environment if this is known issue. Everything was working properly in this Story Map until I started adding in the Express Map. Is my experience unique, or has this situation been encountered by others using Express Maps? Mia
