Hello cyoh, can you please share your model, or at least a screenshot showing your settings? Having the model will help to possibly reproduce your issue. Also, please include info about what version of ArcGIS Pro you're using. Thank you.

Jamal, a preliminary finding: When Ref_G is the 1st Input Field it works as expected Please check if that works for you as well. Still, we will look into the issue.

Hello Jamal, I repro-ed the issue in 2.7_25974 and logged an issue for it to get fixed. We had a similar issue in AGPro way back that was data-specific. May be the same in this case. NOTE: If the fix makes it into a 2.6 patch, I'll let you know. Thanks for reporting the issue. Barbara Bicking

Hello Lance, made in and out a P and ran model as a tool and got output, which I manually added to the map. If my UC schedule permits, I'll install 2.6 final later today and retest there. See what you get when you start fresh: Create a map-based project in 2.5.2, recreate the model and run it as a tool.

Hello Lance, I stumbled upon your post and just now built the model in 2.7_25821 and it worked. What build of ArcGIS Pro are you using? You may need to refresh the folder if you do not see your output at first.

Hello Michelle, Are you aware of iterators in ModelBuilder? They may just get you where you want to go. There is Iterate Files that takes a folder as input. Several others do as well. Note only 1 iterator is supported per model. With the iterator added to a model, attach the GP tool you want/need to use, like Copy in this simple example. The %Name% ensures that you get unique output names. Best to read up on iterators here An overview of ModelBuilder tools—Tools | ArcGIS Desktop

Hi All, Trying to Select Recodrs By Attribute from a feature layer (e.g. Points.shp) based on the field value from a related table (e.g. Points1.dbf). If I run the model as-is (see screenshot), the result is a table view and 4 feature layers (e.g. FLayer0, FLayer1, etc.) in TOC (corresponding to the records in the table view based on my expression). Each 'FLayer' has 1 feature selected in it. However, what I've been trying to achieve is to select all 4 records in a single feature layer. I used ADD_TO_SELECTION selection type on the 'Select Layer By Attribute' tool, but the model doesn't seem to be respecting that. As soon as I remove the %n% from the 'FLayer' output, I end up with FLayer0 with 1 selected feature in it (the selected feature is the last one in the table view, which indicates that the model has iterated 4 times as it was supposed to, but for some reason overwritten all previous selections). Any ideas on how I might be able to fix this? Thanks, Max Hi Max, see if Append or Merge get you there. Barbara

Is there a way to utilize the Goto XY tool within a model/toolbox? I'm trying to create a web app that will allow the user to input/goto a coordinate and then create a buffer around that point. I simply cannot find a way to "Goto XY" in a model thus far...still looking tho... Hi Marie, Do you have a source script or .exe for the GoToXY? If so, then use that to create a script tool and use the script tool in a model. Read up on it here and here. Barbara

If I try to use geoprocessing, either with a script, toolbox, or whatever, to copy a shapefile to a drive's root, it doesn't work. For example, copy input - C:\workspace\shapefile.shp, copy output - C:\shapefile_copy.shp. The process says it is successful but it doesn't actually create the files. Why doesn't this work? Whether or not people should be putting data in a drive's root is not relevant. For an example, my office network creates a network drive (U:) mapped to a personal folder for everybody in the office. I can't use geoprocessing to copy a shapefile directly into U:\. Not that I do this, I would rather put data into a folder within a drive, but this should still be possible. I don't think it is any kind of permissions issue as I have full control to these drives, I can create, copy and delete things from these root "directories" using the windows file system. The reason this is even a problem that came up is because if I create a model, add-in, or whatever that allows the user to choose a folder for output and for whatever reason they choose a drive's root then it won't work or might even throw an error. Has anyone run into this before? Hi Ryan, This is by design and it's dictated by the IWorkspaceFactory interface that does not support writing to the root of a drive. Barbara

Hi David, it's not possible to say why this happens; it ought not happen. To investigate, we'll need the model plus data. Please send both and we'll look into it. For now, if the model is not too large, recreate it and see if that takes care of it -- many times it does. I created a model with Parse Path and CreateFC using German data and had no issue on either 10 or 10.1. Barbara

This is only a simple model I used to see if this went. And as I said. No errors in 10.0, but error in 10.1. It seems that it does not create directories before trying to create the geodatabase. Have had a colleague with 10.1 to try too. She gets the same error message. Thanks for your feedback. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Ann. A cr is logged and it will be fixed for 10.1 final. Barbara Bicking
