@PeterBecker thoughts? I have replicated this behaviour in Pro 2.9 and Pro 3. Would you recommend ignoring the raster product files (i.e. IMD or DIM.xml) and treating the mrf file on its own merits? The requests against S3 are all byte-range requests but the range is clearly significantly larger when accessing via the product.

I messed with one of mine in a custom *.atbx You need 7zip to edit the compressed archive right-click on the *.atbx that you created. then right-click on tool content, select Edit from there NOT the Edit menu on the top The "key" was to find the key that is used in esri tools which in this case was an "attributes" parameter for the join field tool (input_data_change). I added it to my tools parameter, saved it and it appears in the 2nd image. I will have to remove it after gardening 😉

FYI our IT rolled back the drives on our portal machine where the /portal folders are stored. This appears to have resolved the issue. Why it occurred in the first place I don't know.

We're also coming across the same issues with Nessus causing the ArcGIS Monitor 10.8 Services / Processes to Terminate unexpectedly. We have tried excluding ports that Nessus scans related to Monitor: 443 27017 7999 8000 (Enterprise 1) 8001 (Enterprise 2) As Tenable indicate this does happen to some applications, but the fault is with how the application handles the requests. Unfortunately this exclusion did not stop Monitor from crashing. There are additionally many dynamic ports utilised by node.js. which we were not able to exclude. We have been advised by IT the following relating to further Nessus exclusions: No, folder cannot be excluded from scan, there is no such functionality. Processes also cannot be excluded from scans. The only workaround we've found is to configure recovery settings for these services so that they restart after failure. Ideally these services would not fail when the server is scanned.

A SocketException and an IOException may have different causes. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1434451/what-does-connection-reset-by-peer-mean In my case the IOException was shown on the WebAdaptor and was caused by some client monitoring software (Nimsoft) hanging up the connection in a rude way sending TCP RST packets while the WebAdaptor was still copying data from the Input stream (ArcGIS server) to the output stream (client request). So my Exception message "Could not access any server machines. Please contact your system administrator." was rather misleading.

Do you have GeoAnalytics configured? I think it is related to GeoAnalytics and is the Spark UI. I'd reach back out to Tech Support and have them test on their own environment with GeoAnalytics.

Is there a mechanism to set these settings in ArcGIS Pro? I know this issue is old, but I don´t like unanswered questions 🙂 With ArcGIS Pro 2.8 there is the option to "Sign In Using Browser" How To: Sign in to an ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise account using a web browser instead of the built-in sign in dialog in ArcGIS Pro (esri.com) It is possible to manually enable this in In ArcGIS Pro version 2.7.2. If someone is looking for it - it looks like ArcGIS Pro needs access to: https://www.arcgis.com/arcgisuris.xml https://www.arcgis.com/home/signin.html https://webaccounts.esri.com/CAS/index.cfm?fuseaction=Login.ForgotPwd.ShowForm https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/portals/[ORG-ID]/?token=* or when using oauth: https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/oauth2/ *

Ah so before the WA is even registered, navigating to https://wahost.domain.com/webadaptorname/rest/info/healthCheck, for example, returns a 200? I feel like that's a bug; if the WA is not registered, it shouldn't return a 200 for URLs that would normally be forwarded to Server. The URLs that you can navigate through when registering the WA should be the only ones that returns a 200.

I wouldn't alter the list - it has been put together this way by the Esri Security team to be very specific about what gets blocked. There are some other endpoints that you would block with a less specific rule that may prevent (for example) publishing or overwriting services or sharing Portal items.

Is there a whitepaper or set of documents on the built-in authorisation model of ArcGIS Enterprise? The various help sites and documents that outline authentication methods and how they work are more than sufficient but the authorisation component is a tad light. I am trying to document (in as much detail as possible) the various components and interactions that occur when a user accesses a secured ArcGIS Server service (federated, gis item shared to group). I could patch something together myself that outlines the various components, e.g. redirects, generateToken requests and esri_auth cookies. However, I would much rather use an authoritative reference directly from Esri.

Thanks for the information! The links are especially helpful. Pretty new to the remote sensing world and just trying to understand how different workflows will affect a final map product.
