Hi @GarimaTiwari I am trying to follow this practice. I have a slpk file of 149GB, located in a folder on my server. I managed to, following python to register the folder where the file is located as DataStore in the Portal and in ArcGIS Server as well. However, when I go to the publishing step, it doesn't recognize the cache_id I'm putting in. Below is an example of what I am putting in service configuration and I am not sure if it is what is expected: ## Step 4a. Create a dictionary for your service configuration service_conf= { "type": "SceneServer", "serviceName": "Mesh", "properties": { "pathInCachedStore" : "/fileShares/Geodata/filetopublish/Production_6_ESRI_total.slpk", "cacheStoreId": 67df774917f34228b38e658e5f229576, } } service_conf In the "pathInCachedStore" parameter I'm putting the path to the folder where my slpk file that I want to publish is located. In the "cacheStoreId" parameter I am putting id of my datastore that I consulted through the ArcGIS Serve Admin directory. Can you tell me what I am configuring wrong?

Nevermind. Found the answer at the bottom of https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/install/windows/installing-portal-for-arcgis.htm. The heading was misleading because I don't have multiple cards or DNS names, but it worked.

Hello @JonathanQuinn ! Was there a solution for this Problem? We also have this issue. Shared Location Property looks like this: SHARED_LOCATION=\\\\MYSHARE\\shared Export is no Problem, but Import. Servers and File Share are on a Azure VM. Thank you in Advance!

I know this post is a few years old, but I imagine that much of the discussion holds true; From what I understand reading the discussion above, the Join Site method is pretty insufficient for an environment where there's one live server, but it's federated with Portal? In that case, the webgisdr method would need to be used?

Currently single sign-on is not supported when accessing ArcGIS Sites directly as the app relies on authentication being parsed through from prior in the session, i.e. when you hit the portal home page. Because of this, users are prompted to sign in when hitting an ArcGIS Site directly via a URL or embedded page. Could Sites, and apps across the board, please be configured to support SSO out of the box? The current discrepancies between apps provides an inconsistent user experience for SSO and "seamless" navigation.

There is no easy answer here as it is entirely dependent on the use case, how much "work" a single user will put on the infrastructure and how much "work" is simultaneous. The software responds well to vertical scaling so I would aim low and increase vCPU and RAM as needed. There is plenty of doco from Esri on these topics, i.e., https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/deploy/windows/data-storage-considerations-for-an-arcgis-server-site.htm or https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/publish-services/windows/tuning-and-configuring-services.htm. As an example, I would not be providing any apps or maps that use the feature service for visualisation. You should offload that to a map service as it will be more performant. You should also push as much work as possible onto hosted feature layers as these are more performant across the platform.

Ditto. Common feedback and best practice is to not use shared instances for imagery services. Also, you may want to look into how ArcGIS Server is accessing the underlying data at a protocol level (e.g. SMB). If this issue is occurring daily then there may be a session timeout/cache issue.

What is the current optimal workflow for generating raster tiles in the compact V2 cache format at scale (i.e. 10 TB)? My understanding is that the best method is to publish the imagery as an image service (ref mosaic dataset) to an Image Server. Subsequently, you can use manage map server cache to generate the cache using the server resources. Is this still valid? Or, are there other ArcGIS Pro tools that are more up to date and performant? Yes there are multiple considerations with regards to design and storage but I wish to double check which geoprocessing workflow is currently the recommended process?

It is also a security concern (low) as it enables a user to confirm/deny the existence of an account in the external identity store (i.e. LDAP). https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-enterprise-portal-questions/disable-password-reset-functionality/m-p/1086042#M11358

It was absolutely the windows firewall, which was on by default. Not quite sure how I missed that, but adding rules to allow the required port numbers on portal and server VMs to the windows firewall resolved it. Note that no other NSG rules were required as by default, VMs in the same VNet can communicate on all ports. Thanks for the responses. The powershell Test-NetConnection tip is also a useful one.
