Hi, I'm working with a point dataset of tagged fish release/recoveries. This dataset has ~ 37,000 records in the AGOL hosted feature layer. Currently I have been working on an Experience Builder web app with embedded dashboard. I have a number of category selectors, charts, and a list set up within the dashboard. I cannot figure out a way to have the map filter based on a tag number that queries the entire dataset. I do have Search enabled in the map, but this isn't an obvious place to type in and search, plus this will only zoom or select each record that meets the criteria while all points remain on the map. This post is re-posting the issue in this post. Thanks, Kathy

Hi!, I also have this issue trying to search a table of ~ 36,000 records. I was hoping similarly if I use the search option in the category selector it would return the records that met the search. However as you mention it only actually searches the number of records specified in the selector properties which essentially doesn't work and only confuses users. In the dashboard map, I have added the Search with the fields that folks are interested in searching by, but this isn't really that intuitive. I have fish tag locations/recoveries and people simply want to search/filter the data by a tag number as one option and have the corresponding points filter. I realize its a lot of data, but overall the dashboard and other filters are performing great. A side note is I found the dashboard to be about 100% more reliable for performance compared to the Experience Builder map/filter widget (unfortunately). Thanks in advance, Kathy

I had the same issue and solved the issue by clicking the Update metadata task in the Tasks widget on the bottom left of the screen.

Hi @ShaneMKCasey Thanks for sharing the solution and your problem. @ShaneMKCasey wrote: We can toggle layer visibility when setting the bookmark location: Somehow all layers were hidden in this setting for some of my bookmarks (not by me directly), but they can be changed back to visible and seem to stick. Do you mean when creating bookmarks for the exact same map, sometime, all layers are turned off for the visibility by default? Thanks, Wei

I am also getting this error, but on a web map and feature layer. They come from a collaboration.. is that a problem?

Any progress on this? I cannot seem to figure out how to add a few features from Arc Pro to an existing FS in AGOL. The update data tool in AGOL doesn't include attachments (and uploads the rows in a weird, random order) and the append and copy tools in Arc Pro don't ever seem to work for me (using a local copy of what I want to append and a portal copy of the hosted FS). This is my first time trying to get this to work, but it seems like a basic function... either that or I'm a lot dumber than I think I am.

Hi @FletcherHubbard , I just wanted to add in we have been using arcade expression in pop-ups in Field Maps offline that work great. Here is a link on attachments and arcade that might be useful. https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-online/mapping/visualize-your-attachments-in-arcgis-online-with-arcade/ I think the arcade expression should also work in labels offline for attachment count. Thanks, Kathy

No I'm afraid not. Wiping the group and making a new one with the 'All group members can contribute' option left everyone, including me, unable to create offline areas. The only solution we've found for other team members to create offline areas is to log in as the map owner which involves sharing passwords so not really a solution.

If the hosted view you are having issue updating is a part of the Survey123, this solution worked for me. https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/problem-survey-results-are-not-updated-in-arcgis-survey-000016667

@jschuckert I have successfully, been able to implement symbology change based off date stamps utilizing custom arcade expressions in the Style section of the Web Map. Here is an example of one. This works in Field Maps, Web app Builder, and Dashboard seamlessly. The only downfall is if you modify the expression, then you have to reset up all your symbology again. var tdate = Now(); var insp = Date($feature.lastmaint); var pastdue = DateAdd(tdate, -110, 'days'); var duesoon = DateAdd(tdate, -60, 'days'); if (insp < pastdue) { return 'Due'} else if (insp < duesoon) { return 'Due Soon'} else { return 'Completed'}

Hi, Its been awhile since I added new data to the Hub site we have thru the AGOL group. I noticed for these 'new' layers now added 6/9/23 they all show a yellow highlighted message in the download options with Downloading an updated file may take some time'. Why is this? I do not see this on the older files that are posted for download. How do I make this message go away? It is a confusing message, but does show the download option for the June 9th data. This data has not changed. In the AGOL layer settings I do have the cache control setting checked to 1 hour to try to increase the drawing of the layers in different apps. However I wonder is this related to the message? (setting shown in second screenshot). Thanks for the insight. It would be so great not to see this message! Kathy

I upgraded to 10.9.1 over the weekend and I had the same issue with my dashboard. Spent almost a day trying to fix the issue, Using Query Layers in Operation Dashboard method didn't resolve the issue until I see your post regarding the bug. This is what I did, for my event schedule table, I changed the start date field with prefix 'N', 'N' 5/25/2023 and this made the category selector works on the dashboard. At this point, category is displaying as 'N' 5/25/2023, go to the "Selector" tab and under the label to "Load Category" and remove the 'N' from the label. Please see attached images.

Hi, We have an EB map and noticed the USGS National Map draws with a dark theme in EB when zoomed in, but doesn't do this in the 'NationalMap.gov viewer web app or WAB. We would much prefer the light version and all I can figure out is something in the EB map is changing the USGS symbology? Below shows the USGS National Map zoomed in the EB map and the second screenshot is the same basemap zoomed in within the WAB map. We would much prefer the original symbology that is light colored. Is this a purposeful design by EB Developers? Thanks, Kathy

Hi, I feel like the current layout for the Map tools widget is very limiting. In an app I'm working on I have the sidebar with a legend/map layers that sits over the map. However in doing so this covers up a few of the map tool widgets. This is unfortunate because users have to know to collapse the sidebar to be able to use the Zoom functions. I would really like the 'Small size' option to be available in the Map tools layout for 'Large and medium size'. Does anyone have a work around? Currently the 'home' and 'zoom' map tools are not available outside of the map widget. Thanks! Kathy

The method of moving the map and tapping Add Vertex to add features is also very cumbersome for mapping vegetation polygons. On a previous project I very successfully mapped several miles of riparian vegetation with Collector Classic, drawing all polygons quickly in the field. On my current vegetation mapping project, we are using Field Maps on an iPad and decided that drawing polygons in the field would take too much time because of this cumbersome method for digitizing in Field Maps, and instead are trying to digitize all our polygons from imagery in the office via ArcGIS Online. It probably is not as accurate, but at least it is faster. Unfortunately this also means that sometimes we have to modify polygon boundaries in the field, which is also done by moving the map and tapping the button, and also very cumbersome and time-consuming, and the Apple Pencil does not speed it up much. For vegetation mapping, I am rarely standing exactly on a point that I wish to digitize. Regarding vertex accuracy, most of us who need accurately placed vertices use some sort of fine-point stylus (like an Apple Pencil). This eliminates the concern about a finger blocking the screen. I can understand if one was collecting just single points and always standing exactly on the location to be collected, the new digitizing method would work well. Also, I like the snapping option in Field Maps, it makes modifying a polygon boundary by moving the map slightly more feasible. For the rest of us, the tap-to-digitize method of Collector Classic would be very preferable. Hoping to hear that this feature will be added soon.
