Thanks for the information Mike. As the first step, I would like to isolate the issue to see if this is caused by the map service itself or it's by the operations dashboard app. From your information, it seems if REST end point of the map service is having performance issue, that's the first place to take a closer look. I do not work with Server team, but from my experience, increasing the max number of instances might help. The other place to take a look is the server log. If you enable verbose mode and check server log, it can often tell you something. -Jay

Hi Mike, Do you add the map service only once in the web map and build operation view using operations dashboard app, and consume the same map service in multiple widgets? If so, the performance shouldn't be low. You mentioned that the map service REST endpoint is also slow, so I am wondering if the performance issue only happens on this specific map service, or other map services as well? I would like to get more information and see if we can nail down the problem. Thanks -Jay

Hi Andreas, Can you share more details on what you are after regarding "show attribute table" inside operations dashboard app? Do you want it as a build-in widget so when you author the view, you can pick a data source for this widget so that when users load the view, they see the widget showing attribute table (fields can be checked on or off at the time of authoring)? Thanks -Jay

Hi Josie, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. One of the goal for 10.3 release (fall this year) is to close the gap as much as possible between the windows app and the browser app. There are a few map tools or widgets that are not supported in browser app, including directions, chat, link map extent. We haven't received requests for these to be made available on browser app. There are a few other places where we are working on to make it consistent between the two apps, including the one you mentioned. If you noticed other places please feel free to let us know. We will try to include it in 10.3 release if possible. Thanks, -Jay

Hi Maher, Are you using enterprise login with oAuth2? We found a bug when using native dashboard app accessing enterprise login page within oAuth2. This will be addressed in native dashboard app's UC release.

Hi James, FYI - we pushed in a fix for views with third-party add-in that's not supported by browser version of dashboard app. The fix would ignore unsupported add-ins and continue loading the view (UC release). -Jay

Hi Sri and Caroline, Current version of web dashboard app in AGOL production site doesn't yet support feature actions on multiple-features. If you apply feature action on a widget that contains more than one feature, the app will do nothing. UC release of AGOl will include the support for feature actions on multiple features. Thanks -Jay

Hi Mike, Can you give a bit more details on when you see this? A step by step description would be helpful. If you can, share a screenshot of that dialog and I will look into that. Thanks -Jay

Hi Adam, Web dashboard app currently doesn't support relative time filtering. The fix won't get into AGOL production site with the July release, but it will be addressed after that. Thank you for your patience. -Jay

Hi Debora and Lloyd, The first release of web dashboard app is now available on AGOL. Here is the link to online doc http://doc.arcgis.com/en/operations-dashboard/web/user/monitor-and-respond-to-events.htm. Thanks for your inputs regarding your use cases and requirements. Some of the functions you want are already in place with current release. I will bring those that are not yet available back to the team for consideration in future releases. If you have other requirements for the web dashboard app please do not hesitate to keep them coming. Thanks, -Jay

Yes the web dashboard app will become part of ArcGIS online, and once users sign in to their organization, they will be able to open a single-display operations view in the web dashboard app. It's a HTML viewer so there is no need to deploy or install dashboard software. For the first release, although we don't have a detailed date set yet, we are looking at Q1 2014. Most likely around Dev Summit time frame (somewhere around March/April). We would love to know if you have any specific requirements or comments on the web edition of the dashboard app. Thanks -Jay

Thanks for your reply Thad! I did actually have the geometry being set that way, but I??d removed it wondering if that was causing the problem then forgot to re-add it to the example code. Thanks for the reminder, frustratingly we are still having problems though. The cache appears to be fine as we can load it onto a window application that we have and it works fine. What would be really great would be to be able to find an example mobile application that adds/edits features. Do you know of anyone who can provide this? There are a few things to check when a seemingly good feature fail to save in an SDK app: 1. make sure the feature is created within the full extent of your mobile cache. 2. make sure all required fields are set (those fields that don't allow null). 3. make sure GlobalID is available in your feature class. 4. if you have a map document referencing a file GDB and publish to 10.1 server, make sure you choose to copy data to server otherwise the layer will be read-only even it has GlobalID. To add a new feature in SDK is something similar to the following code snippet:
FeatureDataTable fTable = editlayer.GetDataTable();
// creates a new row
DataRow editedFeature = fTable.NewRow();
//sets the new geometry to the geometry field
editedFeature[editlayer.GeometryColumnIndex] = sketchGraphicLayer1.Geometry;
//sets other required fields
editedFeature["xxxxxx"] = "xxxxxx";
//sets the new geometry to the feature layer data table
fTable.Rows.Add(editedFeature);
// updates the feature layer data table
fTable.SaveInFeatureLayer();

Mobile 10.0 Update 4 includes a bug fix for panasonic touchbook GPS averaging that's pretty similar to what you have seen. The bug was caused by the mobile application listening to GPSChanged event while at the same time, if user is stationary, GPS unit on some devices doesn't spill out any NMEA sentence as it assume user doesn't move. We changed the underlying logic in vertex averaging in these cases to let the mobile app go ahead with averaging if it already has a good fix. Mobile update 4 should be made available to customers recently. Hi Erik, Thanks for the reply. Sounds like the Qualcomm-based Gobi units work with averaging points and show GPS deviations. The Motorola MC65 is using the Qualcomm MSM7627 chipset, which looks to be different from the one used in the Gobi, so maybe this is something specific to that particular chipset. Interesting.... I've also had the same error message you have, but only upon resuming the MC65 after it has been suspended with ArcMobile and the GPS running. Other units using different GPS chipsets don't cause ArcMobile to throw the error message after resuming; they simply reconnect and display the location after a valid fix has been obtained. Maybe there are some compatibility issues between the Qualcomm chips and ArcMobile. Build 2525 is the latest build of ArcGIS Mobile 10. Thanks.
