We have been using ArcGIS for AutoCAD 400.2 for quite some time. Recently, we decided to make the switch and upgraded our ArcGIS Enterprise from 10.7.1 to 10.9.1. Shortly after, we had noticed that some of our existing feature services are no longer loading in AutoCAD. If the user attempts to add the service into a CAD drawing (New or Existing), AutoCAD either: Crashes with an error that looks like this: Prints the text “One or more errors occurred....” followed by the text “Error...” for each layer in the service. Checking the server logs shows two errors that correlate to these attempts: “Error: Invalid query” followed by “Unable to perform query operation.” I am not sure where the problem lies since we are still investigating it, but I wanted to test my luck here and see if anyone is familiar with the issue. We also have an Esri support case open, but we aren't making much progress there either. One last thing to note here is that all of our existing feature services work flawlessly in ArcGIS. This is only an issue when using ArcGIS For AutoCAD Plugin with AutoCAD. We have also confirmed that the issue does not exist when it is in ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.1 Thanks in advance!

Hi Hilary, just a quick thought on this, as we're slowly moving into AE environment and trying to fimiliarize with some the new capabilities. I understand that the saving credentials in collaboraiton is only available in post 10.8 or later and only available between AE environments. It does addresses the issue where guest organization users do not have to manage another account from the host organization. However, with that being said, I am still curious if there is any future plan that map and tile layers will have the option to be shared as copies. I do find it that it is more flexible consider that I can expand the sharing to my other organization groups. This isn't available if it is just a reference layer. Thanks! Sam

Hi there, I recently ran the System Log Parser and encountered the following error message "Could not collect logs! ArcGIS Log Query Error: Could not send HTTP request https://gisserver.domain.com/server/admin/logs/query Reason: equest Execution Time: 300.04 second (see attachment for reference). I also received a warning message from the System Log Parser that the log collection attempt could not be completed. Please check inputs. ArcGIS Log Query Error: Could not send http request. Any idea what could be causing this problem? The System Log Parser is working in another independent environment of ours, but not this particular one. for some reason it would start querying log data and ask me to wait and then get stuck at 3168kb retrieved before timing out. Thanks in advance!

Hi there, Just curious to see if anyone has seen this issue before. Recently, we have noticed that when we bring in an imagery service, the moment we start adding a few polylines to the view, the imagery service will dissaear. Otherwise the imagery looks beatiful in AutoCAD. Users can pan around and zoom in and out without any issues. We're currently using AutoCAD and 2018 and 2019 and our imagery service are hosted on a standalone ArcGIS Server 10.7.1. We attempted to test this with secured and unsecured service and the results are the same. Any insights to this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I recently looked into deploying the ArcGIS Pro in Microsoft Azure environment and notice that this is possible as long as we are utilize the Microsoft Azure NV series Instances. I understand that the NV series instance provide important graphics capability, but if our work does not contain graphic intesnsive component, is there an alternative virtual machine we could possible set this up in? Correct me if I am wrong, but another reason why we are looking for alternative is because the NV series appear to be available in US only. looking forward to any response. Thanks,

Hi there, it looks like esri has finally updated the bug today and indicates that Traditionally versioned data is not appropriate for extremely high volume edit loads through web services. Customers are recommended to investigate the newer branch versioning mechanism which is designed to handle this type of scenario. BUG-000114780: Passing edits to the ArcGIS Server feature service a..

Thank you all for the confirmation. I was already thinking about putting all three arcgis web adaptors (one for portal, one for hosted ArcGIS Server Site, and one for stand alone ArcGIS Server site) on the same web server, but just didn't have the confidence to confirm it. If anything, I did struggle to understand why you would put each arcgis web adaptor on a separate web server instead.

Hi there, I understand that in an ArcGIS Enterprise Base deployment, we will require two ArcGIS Web Adaptors – one to traffic our Portal for ArcGIS and one for traffic to the hosted (federated) ArcGIS Server site. I have gone through some of the documentations online, and cannot seem to confirm my understanding on this. The question I am looking to answer here is to determine whether or not we should be installing the two ArcGIS web adaptors on the same web server or on a separate web servers. This is going to be a multi-machine deployment where the software components will be installed on two or more machines. From my understanding, it appears to me that multiple web adaptors can be installed on the same machine at long as their names are different. On the other hand, these web adaptors can also be installed on separate machines. However, I can’t seem to understand the need to deploy these web adaptors on separate web servers. If naming is not an issue, then is it corect to say that we can proceed with installing both web adaptors for Portal for ArcGIS and Hosted ArcGIS Server site on the same web server (this will not be a problem as we plan to name the web adaptor for the Portal for ArcGIS with portal and the hosted federated ArcGIS Site with webgis). Looking forward to sort out this confusions. Thanks,

Hi there, before I had raised the question, we had attempted to use the Add geometry attributes tool. However, when we changed the projection, it would not honor it. You can set the output value and it would still calculate the length in the original feature class projection. Based on this, we ended up creating a variable of a spatial reference (SR) in model builder, and selected the desired output coordinate system. In the "calculate length" (data management) tool, we added the following expression: !SHAPE!.projectAs("%SR%").length and that seem to do the job. Thanks!

I am using this code in "Calculate Field" to calculate the lat and long and re project the coordinates so I figure it has to be something similar. arcpy.PointGeometry(!SHAPE!.firstPoint,!SHAPE.spatialReference!).projectAs(arcpy.SpatialReference(4326)).firstPoint.Y

Hi there, We are also having this issue: Error: FDO_E_VERSION_REDEFINED. The version has been redefined to reference a new database state.. Made 19 failed attempt(s) to reconcile and save edits. Performing StopEditing (without save). The problem is the editing of users via web services (Feature services in particular and through Collector for ArcGIS) I suspect the same that it may be to do with too many users editing concurrently to the default state. My question then is how can I resolve this problem? I also noticed a bug similar to the issue without a solution below: https://support.esri.com/en/bugs/nimbus/QlVHLTAwMDExNDc4MA== Thanks in advance,

So I have done some more testing on my end and the the results are as followed: When you only share a web map without sharing the layers (hosted, none shared, or with embedded credentials), it will behave as expected according to Esri documentation. The layers will not display correctly if it does not have the same sharing configuration as the web map. The only one off is when the layers are required to be authenticated against the ArcGIS Server (that is services registered with ArcGIS Online without credentials embedded), it seems to bypass the item sharing level and only rely on the web map sharing level. I was told by Esri Support that this is expected behaviour (but rather confusing), but I have not been able to find any official wording on this. Thanks

Hi Kelly, Appreciate the response and the scenarios you have listed out. Unfortunately, I am indeed seeing layers that I should not have access to and it does not fall into one of the above scenarios. The only item shared to the group I am a member of is the web map, not the layers. If possible, it would be great to see if you could possibly replicate the same issue from someone else. Create Group A and Group B Added a 2nd User – with editing feature capability to Group A Created Group B without any member Registered an ArcGIS Server web service as an AGOL item as a none-hosted layer: Shared the none-hosted (mapping) layers to Group B Created a web map with non-hosted mapping layer included Shared map to group A Logged in as 2nd user account (Second User) Access second map with ArcGIS Server web layer Confirm if you can access the layers within the web map as 2nd user account (preferably a user role) Curious to see if anyone is seeing the same thing. Thanks

Hi there, I noticed this in ArcGIS Online recently and would like anyone to confirm if this is expected behavior I recently shared only a web map to a specific private ArcGIS Online group. To avoid confusion, I will call it group A. WIthin this particular web map, there are a series of layers not shared to Group A. The layers are shared with other groups (B, C or D and so on). I have an ArcGIS Online account that I used to access this web map. This account is only a member of group A and contains the role with editing privileges. When I access the web map using the account, it appears to me that I can see all of the layers? I was under the impression that the layers in the web map would not be visible since my account is not a member of the other groups that the content layers are shared. Furthermore, I was prompted to update the sharing when I initially shared the web map to group A (Please see attached for reference as it indicates that layers in the web map may not be visible). I chose to cancel the update sharing and stick to only sharing the web map and it turns out that I was still able to see the layers without updating it. This behavior seems to go against the Esri's documentation that in order for users to see layers in a web map, the layers must be shared similarly to the web map. Some may think that I may have shared these layers as an organization layer. However, it is not the case, we do not share anything to the organization and public. Everything is shared specifically to the private ArcGIS Online groups. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks
