Hi All, As the document mentioned, "Currently when a network location is on a junction, the ArcGIS Network Analyst extension allows U-turns there, even when its CurbApproach property is set to No U-Turns and the U-turns at Junctions property of the network analysis layer is set to Not Allowed." My question is when the stop is set as a street override (As we don't know which direction is best for the crossroad), how to avoid a U-Turn in this scenario? The U-Turn policy is "Allowed Only at DeadEnds". Environment: ArcGIS Desktop 10.6 with Network Analysis Extension Thanks, Leo

Hi Jay, This is the SS from the network dataset properties and the dirty area layer. There is no dirty area on the map. Is there any way to repairing the date/time stamp that makes the built status correct? Thank you! Leo

Hi Jay, Thank you for your reply! Is the Not Built status showing up on the same machine on which you built the network? Yes. The ArcMap, ArcGIS Server and GDB file are on the same machine. And are you sure no other process is editing the network dataset after you have built it? Yes. The ArcGIS Server is stopped when building the network. And no other process is editing the network dataset. " And the NA Server which is using the network data source is correct" This means the network dataset could be using by the ArcGIS Server. And the NAServer is using the network dataset which status is 'Not Built'. Further more, the network dataset works fine in the ArcMap with Network Extension, although the status is not built. Bests, Leo

Hi All, After running the tool - Build Network successfully, the build status in the Network Properties is shown as 'Not Built'. Open the network dataset properties in ArcCatalog, it's the same status - 'Not Built'. And the NA Server which is using the network data source is correct. Environment: ArcGIS Desktop 10.6 File Geodatabase with Network Dataset Version 10.1 Thanks, Leo

Hi Rodney, Thanks for your reply! You said no need to maintain own list of standard abbreviations, but if a customized locator style(if in this style abbreviations can be added) can be added so as to create address locator in this newly-added locator style, I saw this link: How To: Add a custom address locator style to the list of available styles So my question is, can a customized locator style be added so as to make abbreviations configurable? Thank you!

My company use Mapinfo to implement our product, but now, we plan to implement it by ArcMAP In mapinfo, there is a file named MAPINFOW.ABB (Abbravition) can be used to identify and classify keywords that may appear in an address, such as street types(ST,AVE,BLVD) and directions(N,NW,S) More Details http://ees2.geo.rpi.edu/gis/docs78/MI_UG.pdf Page 180 (Section: Incompatible Abbreviations) Page 184-185 (Section: Resolving Simple Truncation, Resolving Space-Delimited Truncation, Resolving Simple Substitution, Handling Legitimate Spaces) ArcMAP 9.x have (.cls, .pat) files can implement similar features More Details https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000004070 https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000009358 Page:107 - The classification table > http://webhelp.esri.com/arcgisdesktop/9.2/pdf/geocoding_rule_base_developer_guide.pdf But I've not found ESRI offer above features on ArcMAP 10.6 Accoding to following link, at 2013.11, esri not support above features https://community.esri.com/message/84731 I want to know, now, ESRI has provided above features or not? If yes, where can I find it? If not, how to implement above features?

1) The original network is correct, before made the template and modifications. And it worked fine. 2) There was not any failure message. No error dialog or windows popup. The only clue about this is there is a status shows 'solve failed'. BTW, the quotation mark used in the template xml should be single or double? Thanks.

Hi All, This attached customized.xml is created as the below workflow: Created a network dataset manually in Arcmap by using the converted streets, and newly generated turns data. Added all the attributes that the network dataset needs(for example, oneway, traversable, time, length etc. ) Then exported a xml template(original.xml) from this network dataset using arcmap tool (ArcToolbox > Network Analyst Tools > Network Dataset > Create Network Dataset From Template). Customized the original.xml template in our c# code by adding new attributes based on how many counties of source data we converted. (To be specific, if you checked the original.xml we looped through elements inside the <EdgeFeatureSources></EdgeFeatureSources>, and copy the element and insert to <EdgeFeatureSources>, and changed both <EdgeFeatureSource> name to our converted street feature class name. and we did the similar thing to the <NetworkAssignments></NetworkAssignments>) I can create a network dataset with the customized.xml and built it successfully. But after add two stops along the street and click solve in Arcmap it always failed. So my questions are: If the network dataset template support add attributes by edit the xml? If not , how do you suggest solve the need that we want customize network dataset attributes with arcpy base on how many counties of source data we converted . If so, what’s right way to edit the xml. Thanks,

Hi Richard, Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, besides the symbols shown on the map, there also have direction details on the widget. This couldn't removed by your solution. At the same time, the direction turns are calculated by the stops, which is not as expect either. Leo
