Update- This has more to do with the field data type before you publish a service. You can get an empty related Feature Table if your Relationship Class key fields are LONG. Try converting them to STRING. It is odd that ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro both work fine with the fields as LONG, but when you publish a web service it converts them to INTEGER and seems to mess things up. At least for related feature tables. Esri support helped me find this and they may call it a bug, or maybe just a limitation.

I am working from the same example and I cannot get it to work with my own feature layer. I downloaded the sample to my own server and it works great with the Esri feature service but not my own. I've tried it with a relate as well as a relationship class, published from ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap. Yes, my table is in the same database as the feature class and both are loaded in the map data frame when I publish. The only big difference from my results and yours is that when I click on the option to show related records, I get an empty content pane with no feature-table-grid in it. Not even headers. I think this has something to do with the way I am publishing my data but I can't figure out what. My service directory looks very similar to the Esri example. Did you ever resolve your issue?

Good point but not really important here unless you are actually seeing the layer in the 4x version on CodePen using any browser. What browser are you seeing it in? I'm using Chrome v87.0.4280.88 and Edge v87.0.664.66.

My CodePen tests use an Esri map service but I am having the same issue with an in-house map service.

Sure enough, that works for me as well. Back to the original question, why does the other map service draw in 3x but not 4x? Does something need to change on the map service? or my code?

Thanks Adam. Idunno either. There are no errors in the console and when I run this on my local server I get so many Fiddler responses related to VPN that I haven't been able to sort them out. That is why I posted it in CodePen, so I would know that it has nothing to do with my local security. Unless you are actually seeing the layer in the 4x version on CodePen.

Hello, I am trying to migrate a simple map from JS API 3x to 4x. My test is a simple basemap with one feature layer added from a MapService. I have created what I think is the equivalent code in both APIs but it seems to work in 3x but not 4x. Will someone please take a look at these two pens and see if I made and obvious mistake. They are short, I promise. https://codepen.io/valcannon/pen/zYKEqdy https://codepen.io/valcannon/pen/oNzGxov

Good idea. My web.config file already has this header. I'm using IIS. Anything else I should check? <httpProtocol> <customHeaders> <add name="Cache-Control" value="no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate " /> </customHeaders> </httpProtocol>

The inaccurate record count turned out to be a cache issue in Chrome. Clearing the cache fixed it. I suppose I can fix this with HTML somehow.

I am also trying to move my publishing from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro but I have found the update workflow needs to change. When publishing from ArcMap, I used a feature class in a registered file geodatebase. To update I would: Create a new feature class with "_new" appended to it Delete the old feature class Rename the new one by removing "_new" Restart the service This worked great for several years and the service was down for less than a minute when I updated. I tried this workflow in ArcGIS Pro but found that I couldn't delete or rename a feature class that is being used as a source for a running map service. A co-worker, tminterWork , suggested I use a model to remove and replace the records in the feature class instead of trying to replace the entire feature class. This appeared to work but after the update my JavaScript application couldn't get an accurate count of the total number of records from the map service, even after restarting the service several times. It only corrected itself after the server was restarted. I also found that the service published from ArcGIS Pro is much slower than the one published from ArcMap. Has anyone else encountered any of this?

It is good to know that I am not the only one. I get extremely long "loading maps" messages from sde maps services that I am connected with via VPN. I also tried to import a feature class to a local file gdb from an sde server via ArcGIS Pro catalog and it took almost an hour. But it was almost instant when I copied it via SQL Server to a local install and then imported it to the file gdb. Working from home has opened up a whole new set of problems with ArcGIS. But it still sounds like the eternal "loading maps" is a bug that if nothing else should give you an error that tells you why it isn't loading after...maybe five minutes?

I'm concerned about a possible last minute suspension of authorized travel at my organization. I would be very interested in more live streaming.

I'm getting the same error in ArcGIS Pro but if I close the application and run the script in PyCharm (or IDLE, I assume) it runs great. This looks like a bug with a workaround for me.
