Ok, that narrows it down a lot. Is the "Send data to this survey" settings in Experience looking normal? Were you able to add a data connection? What does this screen look like? This is from one of my experiences that sends to a survey built in Connect.

When I self host an application, it references maps in AGOL but it exists on my server. This is my experience from Web App Builder, but after I download the code and create an app on my server, I then would have to add the local URL to my new application as its own item in AGOL if I wanted to share that out from a portal or something.

Did you update the submission URL in the Survey123 connect XML file to point to the appropriate URL? Did you set up the link fields in the Experience builder? Not sure where the disconnect is in this workflow as the building of surveys on existing feature services can be a bit of a pain to implement. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-survey123-blog/working-with-existing-feature-services-in-arcgis/ba-p/894290

I once saw a blog post example for returning a list of connected users in order to send them an email before database reconciliation occurred. Seems like that would be a good starting point. That particular example in my code looks like the following: sdeConnection = r"Insert/your/path/here"
#list users connected to database
userList = arcpy.ListUsers(sdeConnection)
# get a list of user names from the list of named tuples returned from ListUsers
userNames = [u.Name for u in userList]
mylist = list(dict.fromkeys(userNames))
#I removed a few extra characters to clean up the user list because I needed to create emails, so you'll have to work on this part to customize it to your needs
mylist.remove('DBO')
mylist = [(name[10:-1]) for name in mylist ] Edit: Here is the link to the syntax doc. Here is a GeoNet post where someone is working through the example I mentioned, & they link back to the original post.

My initial thought was that I could easily do this in a 1 day workshop. I'm going to be testing out a shorter one at a local users group, and I may format two lengths - full day and 1/2 day. In-person with a virtual option is the tester format we are discussing. I would have printed materials for people to walk through the guided analysis and brainstorming parts. We would literally be working through some problems and brainstorming some solutions, and then moving onto potential data sources to help answer questions and finally wrapping up with some examples of how to collect the data & start using it.

Hi, @ErikLash4 thanks for the reply! I like the thought of bringing up the "but we've always done it that way" mindset - I run into that a lot. Do you feel that either mindset is necessarily a negative or positive one? I can see the pros/cons of each and I'm also curious how you've handled both approaches, if you're willing to share!

Hi all: Wrote an article on tips for making your GIS Departments proactive instead of reactive. I'm wanting to take this and transform it into a workshop format. Tips & thoughts on how to do this? My thoughts are: 1. take people through the analysis I did to identify my roadblocks 2. Identify goals to help overcome roadblocks in a brainstorming session 3. Identify data to support goals 4. Implementation ideas for tools & data collection I really want a guided, interactive format, but I've not really done a workshop before, so looking for guidance. Note: I am in Local Government so that is how mine is framed, but not tied to this Thanks!

Normally, my first thought was the ms.refresh(), that is supposed to refresh a map series in the event the source data does change. It says the map series will retain the original settings until the refresh method is executed, or the project is saved & reopened. Perhaps try moving the second refresh to below the exported page?

I was able to implement something similar to the AGOL version on my portal using this blog. Obviously doesn't have the credits portion, but was able to view items and content modification information.

Do you have editor tracking enabled? Are you able to look at the editors of your different survey feature services & maybe count them by using a script? How about item views of your field worker layers? Edit: I have been kicking around setting up a Hub initiative and group for users to do announcement & email blasts.

I fully agree with that - in my case my Server Admin wanted to dump several hundred GBs of Pro work files onto one of my federated servers without checking first and I had to gather information on why they couldn't go on each server.

I just had this conversation and it is NOT recommended. ESRI didn't recommend it and my database admin did not recommend it. I was told that SQL is a jealous resource hog and that it will consume what you give it. I decided not to go that route with my multi-machine deployment.

That is a lot to answer all at once - each of those is probably it's own discussion! I can't hit everything but here are some highlights: Use PEP 8 for guidelines - they are what most use and it will help with readability of your code Lambda - it's a small, anonymous expression. Takes multiple arguments but only has one expression. Regular functions are a block of code that can do multiple things. Check out W3Schools.com for some testing & brief explanations. Multithreading can be interesting, and if you look into that, you should know the difference between that and multiprocessing. Check out this course from PennState world campus that looks at it from a GIS standpoint. handling file input/output - are you looking to manipulate certain file types or are you looking for a prompt that lets you enter in a value? Regular expressions - they can be useful for narrowing down what is allowed to be inputted - basically they form a search pattern that you check strings against. i.e. it will only let you enter a value that resembles a phone number in this particular format (###) ###-#### or other things like that.

What about attribute rules? I thought that you can set them up to trigger when a records geometry is updated. Take a look at this post on updating only on a geometry change. This post seems to be very similar to what you are asking.
