Hey! Can we please get some more information about the imagery you're using? For example, resolution [spatial and spectral!]. Also - it might be worth checking the system requirements to see if there's anything else going on!

Hey! Do you mean that you have a number of centerlines [e.g. in a polyline layer], and you would like to compare this against some imagery?

Is it crashing at any stage, or just taking an age to run and you're abandoning ship after the 5 days? Also - are you running it with background processing enabled [Geoprocessing on main menu > Geoprocessing options > is the Background processing "Enable" checked]? Finally - are all the datasets using the same coordinate systems, and have you tried to use the Viewshed [spatial analysis] tool?

Gotcha. Essentially, setting up a predefined area of interest / location of interest at the layer level, not the data frame level. Unfortunately, I don't think that is currently possible. The other option may be to request that they add the AOI data first, then the basemap? Make it part of the process?

You could use the raster to point tool with the value ID as the field. then use the extract multivalues to point tool to extract the correct values? Could set up a neat little model / tool to do this in one...

Sounds like you want to create a new point layer [i.e. a shapefile or feature class] > add that new, empty layer to your map > digitize the points > then add labels and or text [either as a graphics layer, or generic text box]. Once you have carried out the selection, you can export the selected feature to a new layer. How: carry out your selection process > in the contents pane [or, on ArcMap: the table of contents], right click on that layer's name > Dara > Export [features] You can also continue as you have done previously i.e. create the temporary layer > then export that layer as a new, independent, permanent layer. How: similar to the previous method, simply right click the new layer > Data etc. You could put together a quick model / tool that carries out the desired selection and creates the new permanent layer, all in one!
