Hi there, Thanks a lot for the detailed information. We were able to reproduce the flickering issue left in 4.14 and plan to get this fixed at 4.15. Your input is very much appreciated. Best, Veronika

Hi Gianluca, and many thanks for the detailed reply!! As you suggested, I tried to add my layer as a featurelayer to my scene, and experimenting with different 3d symbols. However, I cannot get the result that I am trying to achieve. I've tried with the 3d water symbol, and the polygon extrude symbol. If I use the 3d water symbol, the polygon is again draped on top of the underlying terrain model (i.e. the resulting polygon is not a flat surface). If I use the extrude symbol, the resulting polygon has varying height for each vertex, again because of the underlying terrain model. My conclusion so far is that I cannot achieve what I want simply using 3d symbols. What I want to achieve is to give the polygons a certain Z value, and I see now that I can do that using the elevationinfo options of Featurelayer, or by generating a terrain model on-the-fly and place that below the featurelayer. Anyway, thanks for your help and merry christmas 😃

Many thanks for the example Freddy. I will re-trigger update as you suggest and skip hacking the sketchviewmodel in case it has some unwanted side-effects. I too hope esri will add this functionality.

You're right about that, I'll make sure to add these limitation in the documentation for all tile layers that use a tiling scheme.

The API has logic for performing joins of MapImageLayers and tables that are available in the workspace. A sample of this can be seen here: ArcGIS API for JavaScript Sandbox However, when you create a new layer by joining a mapImageLayer with a table, you loose the symbology that is available in the mapImageLayer, and instead have to define your own renderer. Is it somehow possible to force the joined layer to use the symbology from the mapImageLayer it is derived from?

I want to use a webtilelayer as my basemap, and this webtilelayer has a spatial reference wkid 25833 (euref89). When I try to do this, the map never get loaded. I get the following error in the console: "The spatial reference of this layer does not meet the requirements of the view" I've tried setting the spatial reference of the mapview, and the WebTileLayer, but this does not help. I've created a codepen to illustrate my problem: https://codepen.io/anon/pen/ZNxXPB?editors=1000 Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

It would be great if you guys at esri could share the upcoming plans for the power bi visual, so that we, the users know what to expect. As far as I can see it's been quite a while since there were any updates. Basic features (e.g. connecting tabular data with polygons, adding layers from arcgis server enterprise, etc.) are still missing.

The arcgis js cdn that ESRI suggest developers to use does not seem to be optimized for caching of resources and page speed. By running any of the arcgis js samples through Google Pagespeed, I get a result saying that the files received through the cdn expires after 60 minutes. As an example, please see the following: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdevelopers.arcgis.com%2Fjavascript%2F3%2Fsampl… So far, the only way I've seen to overcome this is to host your own version of the api, on your own server. Are there any other alternatives to resolve this? And: Why is the cdn setup with such a short expiry date?

A e, It could possibly be done by a very experienced developer, but there are many dependencies that WAB widget have to are to the core WAB jimu libraries so that will make it very difficult. So the short answer is no, not without a major re-write.

Hi, I'm creating a web application using the ArcGIS javascript API v. 3.14. This application is going to show a secure image layer that I can access by providing a generated token in the request. I'm planning to generate the token based on the http referer option, which is described in the following way in the documentation: HTTP Referer: When this (default) option is selected, the issued token can only be used in requests referred by the specified URL. This is the URL of the page from which the request is made to the ArcGIS resource. Use this approach when building an application with the ArcGIS API for JavaScript or other REST-based applications, in which individual clients will request maps and data directly from the ArcGIS Server web service. I interpret the above to mean that the token will only work for requests made via the specified url, and that the token will not work when used in a request made from any other website. Hence I would think that the token is not sensitive information. My question is as follows: Is it ok to hardcode the http referer generated token into the request made to the service in my webapp (i.e. this means that anyone who looks at the source code can see the token), or is this a problem in terms of security?

While panning and zooming the map works fast on PCs (using mouse + scrollwheel etc.), it seems to be very slow and lagging on mobile devices where touch events are used (e.g. pinch to zoom, panning by dragging with a finger). Is there any setting I could set or anything I could do to increase the panning and zooming speed when the map is viewed on a mobile device?
