Hi Martin, Could you be referring to ArcMap Neatline elements being dropped when imported into Pro? This is a known and you should be seeing the import notification for this - 20041: Neatlines are not supported and were dropped from the layout—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop When you import the MXD into Pro look to see if you have any notifications in the upper right hand corner of of the application. If the "bell" has a blue dot you have a notification. Click this and the Notifications pane should open. Here you hover the mouse over "More Details" and click View results. This should open a browser where you can read the notification details. For more information on notifications see ArcGIS Pro notifications—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop. For example, here is a simple MXD with a data frame (blue border), a rectangle (green border) and a neatline element (yellow-black outline with blue background). When this MXD is imported into Pro the neatline element is dropped. Unfortunately, you will need to replicate the neatlines in ArcMap with rectangle elements in Pro. Tom

Hi Will, I believe you are referring to a custom grid. Unfortunately, they will not be supported with the next release - 2.3. We do have plans to support custom grids in the near future. Hopefully, sometime in 2019. Tom

Hi Michael, Data Driven Pages will convert to a Map Series when you import the mxd. You may need to check dynamic map surrounds, such as legend and dynamic text, to make sure they behave as you expect. Pay particular attention to the legend since legend fitting strategies are different in ArcGIS Pro so you may have to make some adjustments. Tom

Hi Ben, The upside-down, inverted behavior you are seeing is due to the value of the Flip angle property on the Text Symbol. When the flip angle is not 0 you will get the upside-down, inverted behavior. This is by design since these text symbols are designed for map labeling, not just for text placement on the layout. To avoid this, I would recommend using the layout specific text symbols that you can access from the Symbol gallery. You can also change the flip angle to 0 for any existing text elements where you see this problem. You can also create your own text styles that you can reuse. Information on how to do this can be found in the following help topic - Save symbols and style items in styles—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop We know that this experience is not optimal and hope to improve it in a future release. Thanks for your feedback. It helps. If you have any suggestions on how to make this experience better, please feel free to post them on the Ideas site - https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Lawrence, At version 2.2 you can further customize grid and graticule label visibility as you see fit. In order to do what you are looking to do you will need to define your edges and specify the label orientation for each direction for each edge. You may want to consider creating a grid style once you have what you want in case you want to reuse this for other similarly rotated maps. For a similar GeoNet discussion please see Gradicule Labels and Tick Marks in ArcGIS 2.2. Here is the help topic that should provide additional information - Add and modify graticules—Layouts | ArcGIS Desktop. Hope this helps, Tom

Hi Catherine, Here's a help topic that you might be of help - Creating a locator map for a map book—Help | ArcGIS for Desktop. Although the topic is for ArcMap the concepts are applicable to ArcGIS Pro as well. Hopefully this help get you started. Tom

Hi Ben, Your expectations of setting a margin is valid, and unfortunately, this is most likely a bug. Can you pass this along to Esri Support? They are better equipped to handle troubleshooting steps and gather bug data. They can be contacted at https://support.esri.com/en/contact-tech-support. Dan does point toward a workaround. You could set the Map Extent with the third option - "Use Scale From Field". It would require extra work in creating a field for your index layer and populating this field with the required scale value. Tom

Hi Khodor, Unfortunately, dynamic text does not support table relates. Currently, the only way to include dynamic related data in a map series is by writing code (Python). I don't believe that Production Mapping has an out-of-the-box solution for this. This limitation is something that the Layout Team is aware of and hopefully, something that we can address in a future release. I recommend getting this onto the ideas sight - https://community.esri.com/community/arcgis-ideas - to gather traction. Sorry I could not be of more help. Tom

Hi Micah, I'm glad the info was helpful. Currently, the orientation of the ticks matches the direction of the line in which they are associated. The only way to change the rotation of ticks is to convert the grid to graphics and adjust rotation manually. Of course you would lose the dynamic ability of a map frame grid. I'll pass along the enhancement request to align ticks perpendicular to the map frame edge to the team for review. Thanks again for the feedback. Tom

Hi Micah, In order to control the label visibility you will need to define map grid edges and toggle the visibility as needed. Here are the steps: 1. Select the grid from the Contents pane and open its properties (Format Map Grid). 2. From the Options tab, expand the Edges and Corners group and check the Define map grid edges and Preview edges and corners check boxes. You should see how the edges and corners are defined for you map. Something like this: 3. Click the Components tab. 4. Select Labels. 5. Go to the Visible group and click Selected. You should see indicators reminding you which map edge is which. 6. Select Edge 1. In the example above, edge 1 is the top of the page. Now it is time to determine which labels are drawn. For edge 1 (top of the page) I want to only display the labels for lines of longitude. That is, lines that go in a North - South direction. Therefore, I want to "turn off" labels for lines of latitude (East - West). 7. Check off West. This feels a bit counter-intuitive because the cardinal direction in the label does not match the direction for the visibility check box. It is important to keep in mind that the label for visibility check box pertains to the direction of the line and the particular end point of this line. The unwanted labels are no longer drawing. 8. Repeat this for the other edges. We designed it this way in ArcGIS Pro to provide as much flexibility as possible to handle not only map rotation cases, but also cases where the map frame is reshaped. Dan helpfully provided a link above to a help topic that provides more information. Hope this helps. Tom
