Hey everyone, The architecture department at my company exports their models through revit....unfortunetly none of the export formats directly import into CityEngine. These are the following data types: adsk, dgn, dwf, dwfx, dwg, dxf, fbx, pcp, and sat. Does any one know of standard procedures or common transformtaions to get this data into CityEngine? CityEngine imports: dae, dxf, gdb, kml, kmz, shp and obj. I've tried to import the dxf, but I get this warning "Invocation target exception". I've tried using FME simple read/write conversions but the geometries are warped slightly and textures are not maintained. Any ideas? Thanks! Devon

Actually I got it. All I had to do was open arcCatalog and view the rasters, select them all, right click and export. Easy Peasy.

Good Morning! I have a large amount of .jpg rasters that have a .wld location/projection files with it. I need these rasters to have the .jgw files with them. I noticed when bring in a raster into the TOC and export via right click, it will create the jpg with the jgw I need. So how can I export a lot of these files with out having to right click on 4573 tiles of rasters? Perhaps iterative tools in model builder? Thanks in advance! Devon

The link appears to be broken to access the tutorial on how to import exported collada files from cityengine into a geodatabase. Could you give me a quick description of the process? best, Devon

Hi Chris, Thanks for your response. I created a mesh from the "polygon shape creation", traced it on top of a base layer. When exported I added in "__water" to the layer group of the mesh. No luck...does it have to be a shape file? See attached photo. Thanks!

I found this thread: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/82817-Water-Effect-in-cityengine?p=292030#post292030 However, I'm not entirely sure what the "__water" is reffering to. Is that an attribute field? name of mesh, texture or a terrain? Can anyone clarify this process? Thanks, Devon

Hi All, I dont have 3D analyst but I do have cityengine, and im wondering about the interoptability between features stored as a shape file or a geodatabase. I know the symbolized data is very much stored in the mxd but if i were to symbolize say points as trees or street furniture, could those "objects" be brought into cityengine? What kind of of building symbology does 3d analyst have? Besides extruding building foot prints, is there detail in building shape, facades and texturing? thanks in advance, Devon
