Hello, Is there a possibility to disable the rollback on faillure on an output feature service connector? At the moment it is 'true' by default. So when trying to add/update 100 features and 1 is giving an error 100 features (or feature updates) are lost (rolled back) instead of the only the one giving an error. Regards, Thibaut

Thank you very much for the reply. This is exactly what happens. I'll try the workflow you're suggesting. Regards, Thibaut

Hi, Is it possible (in Route Solving with Network Analyst 10.3.1) to get the cumulative distance to an event on the resulting route? At the moment I'm getting the distance from the last event ('ItemLength' in the directions.xml), not from the first stop (the cumulative length). And as I'm searching for the fastest route the M-values on the route aren't the distance but the time. Regards, Thibaut

Hi, Using Network Analyst (ArcGIS 10.3.1) to solve a Route. I'd like to know some "statistics" of the resulting route. For instance the maximum width a vehicle might be to take that route. The width of the roads is stored in a field of the road segments. I know I can do an analysis of the resulting route after the solve, but is there a possibility to do this at once. Like you can accumulate a cost, but can you in some way calculate the max/min value of a field/cost while solving a route? Regards, Thibaut

Very useful post! Thanks! So, a GeoEvent processor can only delete GeoEvent Definitions they own? Because I see definitions disappear that I made myself. See my question:Updating GeoEvent Services causes GeoEvent Definitions to disappear

Hello, Using GeoEvent Extension 10.3.1 I noticed that the input WebSocket connector doesn't restart when the connection is lost. In the log the following error can be read: com.esri.ges.transport.websocket.WebsocketInboundTransport: WebSocket experienced an error, trying to reconnect. After that, no data is processed by the input connector. When I check the WebSocket and the data is coming in again, the GeoEvent input connector won't reconnect automatically. So no data is processed. When I manually restart the input connector, the connection is made again and data is processed again. So maybe the system doesn't try long enough or enough times to reconnect? Can this be configured? Or is it something else? Thibaut

Thanks for the answer, this explains a lot. So I understand that a processor may edit or delete a GeoEvent Definition it owns, BUT (in my opinion) it shouldn't delete GeoEvent Definitions it doesn't own. Some details about the setup: There's no name set for a GeoEvent Definition in the GeoTagger processor. It doesn't create a new one, because the field used for the GeoTags is already available in the incoming GeoEvent Definition. I create GeoEvent definitions for my output connectors, which are (owned) copies of the incoming GeoEvent Definition. When I edit the GeoEvent Service (make some changes upstream) the created and owned GeoEvent Definitions for the output connectors often disappear. So it seems the GeoTagger processor doesn't take into account the owner of the GeoEvent Definition. I can fix the GeoEvent Service by recreating/importing the missing definitions, but it is really annoying having to recreate them every time.

Working with GeoEvent Extension for ArcGIS 10.3.1 I notice that GeoEvent Definitions of the output connectors disappear when I update and republish a certain GeoEvent Service. My guess is that the Geotagger Processor (used in that GeoEvent Service) is causing this, as this is the last processor used just before the output connector. I don't have the issue in other GeoEvent Services (that don't use Geotagger processor). Does anyone know what's going on and how to solve/avoid this? Thanks in advance, Thibaut

Thanks for the suggestions! Did you just say that you can use the time an element is traversed in a 'normal' script evaluator? If so, how? As you're interested in the use-case: We are setting up a "visualisation and information tool for 'RIS' (River information services)". One part of the system (that I'm setting up) is a route calculation module for skippers that takes into account all kinds of restrictions on the fairways. I already used the custom evaluator with time schedules sample to make some custom evaluators for the operation times of locks and operated bridges (Thanks for that!), set restrictions for the dimensions of the vessels, speed limits, turning basins, etc. Thats all working fine. Now I want to take into account the NtS (http://www.ris.eu/expert_groups/nts ) messages. That's some kind of traffic information for waterways. These messages may say for instance that a fairway is blocked by dredging on Mondays between 8am and 10am. These messages can be located by RIS codes that link to about 14000 point locations (our current working area). At the moment we see about 150-200 messages a week for our working area. They can be added, deleted or edited at any time. At the moment I'm thinking to add a separate layer to the network dataset for those NtS messages and add a time-aware restriction evaluator to it. This means a network rebuild will be needed when the NtS messages are updated, or, we might update them with a certain frequency. Patrick Stevens: If you have some time, could you look at another question I have? Show ETA from locations on the network when calculating route Mody Buchbinder: sorry to hijack your thread!

That's true if you can link them to known locations (= features) in your network dataset. That's not always the case. Like when the restriction data comes from an external source. In our case there are like 200 restrictions but 14000 possible locations. So we tried the custom evaluator, but this slows down the route solving a lot as it has many locations to check. That's why we are looking into the barriers. We know time aware barriers aren't supported at the moment, but maybe we can program it (like a custom evaluator). Another solution is to add the restrictions in a separate layer to the network dataset and rebuild the network whenever those restrictions change. But as mentioned earlier, we want to avoid this, as the 'route solving service' will be down for a moment.

Hi Patrick, The custom evaluators (we are using these) are useful if the data is stable. But when the restrictions are changing frequently (multiple times a day) the barriers seem more appropriate, because you don't need to rebuild the network with every new restriction location. Do you see a solution for frequently changing time aware barriers/restrictions without a network rebuild? Thanks, Thibaut

We try to achieve the same thing over here. Is there maybe a possibility to 'intercept' the barriers in ArcObjects code? Kind of the same way you can create a custom time aware evaluator? Thanks, Thibaut

We're you able to solve this issue? I'm having the same issue in ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3 with a 10.1 Network Dataset. If I'm using the Integrate tool or edit an edge and try to rebuild, I get building errors saying that the logical model is of an older version. After unloading all data from the network feature classes and reloading it, the network can be build without those errors.

I retried one of our first versions of the evaluator and it seems to work fine as long as both the Apply buttons are enabled and used. So we continue with that one. Many thanks to Patrick Stevens!
