Hi Nathan, thank you, but I would not call it solution, since disabling Editor Tracking removes the desired functionality. I really hope that patch is coming soon, since this is a kind of critical error. Filip Hi Filip, The alternative solution for this issue is to disable Editor Tracking. Thank you.

Thank you for that information. It is good news that a new version of Toolkit is almost there. BUT it is just Toolkit that is going to be updated not the core API. Also the source code is only available for Toolkit. Over on Codeplex there is a reference to v3.2 that was posted on November 4th. So hopefully they are getting close. Also to the OP, you can find the source code to the api at Codeplex. http://esrisilverlight.codeplex.com/releases/view/114370

Hi Nathan, Thank you for the link. I searched for a bug, but I was not able to find any. Do not you know what 'Resolved' mean? It is that they found a soulution by "Disable Editor Tracking."? Or that this BUG has been repaired in recent release? The last release of API was however on 01/25/2013, so I think that it is not included...

I totally agree with Zilvinas Kiela. There has been almost absolute silence about any news, bug fixes or future on the Blog and also here in Forums... Thanks for reply. Filip

Hi, I've found a solution to the problem and would by glad to share it. But first I would like to hear some feedback from anyone from Esri, if this behaviour is bug and when it will be fixed. Thanks. Kind regards Filip

Hi everybody, during development of our app, I came across a serious problem: I have Feature Service with data, that have Editor tracking enabled and when creating the feature on client and saving edits, the feature is correctly written into a geodatabase. However when I edit existing feature, I experience the strange behavior. After saving and updating of the Feature Layer, not all attributes are changed. The observed pattern is that every second attribute value is saved. I found this behavior be the same in our app and also in ArcGIS Viewer for Silverlight. After listening to the applyEdits requests it is obvious, that the error is on client, since adds parameter contains all attributes whilst updates parameter leaves every second parameter:
ADDS parameter:
[{"geometry":{ ... }, "attributes":
{"PO01":9,"FCC":1,"ID":2,"ON_":"A","PS":"3","OC_ADMIN8":"4","OC_ADMIN9":"5","OC_SUBURB":6,"ADM_LEVEL":7,"PO":8,"created_user":"test","last_edited_user":"test"}}]
UPDATES parameter:
[{"attributes":
{"FCC":10,"ON_":"AB","OC_ADMIN8":"40","OC_SUBURB":60,"PO":80,"OBJECTID":1603}}]
An there is result of add and update as seen in Viewer FeatureDataGrid: I suppose that this is Silverlight API bug, since when I tried editing of that very Feature Service in Viewer for Flex, everything worked fine! When I switch off Editor Tracking, the saving of updates works fine. A different settings of ownership-based editing feature of service also causes no difference. I wanted to try Silverlight API sample for Editor tracking to compare the behavior, but the credentials are not provided. Our server version is 10.2 API version we use is 3.1 I tested on secured and also on non-secured services with same result. Have anyone experienced this behavior? And if confirmed as a bug is there going to be a quick fix? Many thanks. Best regards, Filip

I contacted our local Esri distributor and they confirmed that this is a bug reported as #NIM091132: Filter tool in Silverlight Viewer 3.1 does not work on Secured Services for ArcGIS Server 10.1.1. The error is showed in detail here. I hope that patch will be released soon. Regards. Filip

Hi, the following worked fine for me: 1) Make sure that OBJECTID is published in your map service 2) Edit Map.xml in your application (just for sure make a backup copy): Find tag <esri:FeatureLayer> or <esri:ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer> tag for layer you want to change (the right one can be identified by <esriMapping:LayerExtensions.LayerName> tag In case of FeatureLayer add OBJECTID into OutFields parameter: OutFields="OBJECTID,..." Navigate to <esriMapping:FieldInfo> tag in your FeatureLayer or <esriMapping:LayerInformation.Fields> in <esriMapping:LayerInformation> in ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer and add this line (it may be eventually slightly different for you):
<esriMapping:FieldInfo Name="OBJECTID" DisplayName="OBJECTID" FieldType="Integer" AliasOnServer="OBJECTID" DomainSubtypeLookup="None" />
I'm not sure about field type, but it can be also left out 3) Save the file and refresh your browser, OBJECTID is now visible in PopUp, even in Application Builder configuration 4) However I wasn't able to get OBJECTID into Attribute Table 😞 This logic is probably built in FeatureDataGrid in Viewer Application. Hope this helps a bit. Filip

Hi, I've also tried setting up polling for updates ability on Feature Layer, but haven't been able to see it working. I used 30 seconds interval and watched Fiddler for calls, but nothing happened. So I guess this is probably a bug or maybe I'm missing something. Thanks for help. Filip

Hi Patrick, I tried the way that you described but was not successfull even when playing with time settings in many ways. When I checked my TrafficIndex.xml file, all time values seemed to by in our local time (UTC +1). I suppose that it is caused by setting m_timestamp = DateTime.Now in EnumTrafficSpeeds. So I converted DateTime.Now using ToUniversalTime() and times in TrafficIndex.xml file and also name of created dtf file changed to UTC time. Unfortunately not even this helped to bring the live data into display. One thing that I discovered is that if I set the time on in ArcMap and go to the time covered by my DTF file and then try to delete that DTF file on disk, there is a protection against deleting even for an administrator. After ArcMap is closed I was able to delete the file. So this could probably prove that DTF file is accesed by ArcMap, but as it seems, no values are loaded from it. I'm quiet sure, that TMC codes and speeds are correct. Do you know about any reason why it does not work? Thanks. Filip
