Pete, Just set the vertical align of the hbox. Robert - the verticalAlign property is not recognized in my intellisense. When I try to use it I get an Error: Access of possibly undefined property verticalAlign through a reference with a static type mx:containers:hbox

Hi - I'm trying to verically align a swatch and a label in an hbox by setting the verticalcenter of the swatch and then setting the vertical center of the label to the same value -- not working. Any ideas on why or a better approach I could take? below is code Thanks Pete ...... var sr:SimpleRenderer=SimpleRenderer(aRenderer); swatch=sr.symbol.createSwatch(50, 50); swatch.verticalCenter=25; aLabel.verticalCenter=swatch.verticalCenter; ..... hBox.addChild(swatch); hBox.addChild(aLabel);

Ok, thanks Robert. I figured this might be the case, but was hoping it wasnt -- seems like you should be able to close a window without all this fuss

I've got a TitleWindow that is populated with a chart. I'm trying to get the TitleWindow to close using the close event and the popupmanager as shown below. The event fires but the TitleWindow wont close -- I have the Title Window hard coded -- does it need to be created in script using the popup manager in order for the window to close? or hopefully something else I'm missing? Thanks ... <s:TitleWindow id="myTW" title="Maximum Groundwater Elevation" visible="false" close="closeWindow();"> .... chart stuff ... <fx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.managers.PopUpManager; public function closeWindow():void { PopUpManager.removePopUp(this.myTW); //also tried this only } ]]> </fx:Script> </s:TitleWindow> ....

I'm getting the error "1180 Call to possibly undefined method" before I compile my .mxml. I'm trying to put the navigate to url into a link button from information in the attribute table. Code is below <fx:Script> ... public function ClickLink(url:String):void { var theRpageURL:URLRequest=new URLRequest(url); navigateToURL(theRpageURL, "_blank"); } ... </fx:Script> <esri:FeatureLayer id="featureLayer" mode="onDemand" outFields="[REACH,SHEET,URLPLAN]" url="http://HappyServer/ArcGIS/rest/services/sari_drawings_Flex/MapServer/0"> ... <esri:infoWindowRenderer> <fx:Component> <mx:VBox backgroundColor="0xffffff" color="0x444444" label="{data.SHEET}"> <mx:Label text="Reach: {data.REACH}"/> <mx:LinkButton label="View Drawings" textDecoration="underline" click="ClickLink(data.URLPLAN)"/> //ERROR HERE </mx:VBox> </fx:Component> </esri:infoWindowRenderer> ... </esri:FeatureLayer> what could be causing this? Thanks Pete

I have autolabeling set up for my map service through my ArcMap 10 doc. The labels appear when I view the service on ArcGIS.com Map, but when I view the service using the flexviewer the labels dont appear on the map. my config.xml is for the service is: <layer label="SARI Record Drawings" type="feature" visible="true" alpha="1" info="widgets/InfoTemplates/SimpleInfoWinWidget.swf" infoconfig="widgets/InfoTemplates/IWT_Link.xml" url="http://www.mywebsite/ArcGIS/rest/services/sari_drawings_Flex/MapServer/0"/> is there a parameter I need to specify for the autolabeling to appear? I've tried to change the type to "dynamic" and not specify the layer, but then the service doesnt appear. There is only one layer in the map. Thanks Pete

since I only have two widgets for this project both with custom icons I tried to modify the widgettemplateskin width and height for icons as shown below -- the icon was bigger when the legend appeared on the map, but there was no change in the icon in the menu bar on top of the map -- is there anything else I would need to change? <mx:Image id="icon" .... width="150" height="40" ... </mx:Image> Thanks Pete
