Hi Lloyd, I am having one heck of a time implementing this widget! I am attempting to utilize the files in HeatMapWidgetCode\v2\HeatMapWidget\src\HeatMap in my project. I am copying the "HeatMap" folder into my Widgets folder. I am using the default Flex Viewer 2.4 (only adding widgets-no other customization), Flash Builder 4, 4.1SDK ("use SDK default" setting in Library path-Framework linkage). The ArcGISHeatMapWidget will not build the swf in my bin-debug widget folder. The <esri_stl:ProgressMessage and HeatMapThemeView lines both show errors "Could not resolve esri_stl:HeatMapThemeView to a component implementation." I can, however, drop the compiled SWF from your HeatMapWidgetCode\v2\HeatMapWidget\bin\bin-2.4 folder into my bin-debug widgets folder, and it works.... Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks, --Adam

I have been looking for the last 3 hours for something that I thought would be simple functionality within ArcCatalog: A simple count of feature classes within a File Geodatabase. I have looked in documentation, the forums, and simply Googled it.... Nothing! Would anyone have a pointer, or just hit me over the head with a simple "you forgot to check this box in your Options..."? Thanks much! --Adam

When resizing the widget, the datgrid would not resize properly. This has been fixed. BRAVO! All of the modifications are wonderful -- and this specific fix, is something that I was attempting to fix myself. Not being a programmer, I have been unsuccessful, to say the least. Wondering what was done and where.... Thanks much! --Adam

Yep - that did it. I can open the Design View, but I still have the same warnings. No Errors though.

Will and David, This was only a limitation in the Beta version. Do you have any errors listed in the problems window? I am having this problem. In fact I have never been able to get Design Mode to work. Until now, I have been satisfied in the fact that I have been learning more because I am forced to work with only source mode. I am getting errors and warnings in the Problems Window every time I attempt to open anything in Design. I will take a screen shot and post it. In this case, I hit the Design button while looking at the SelectionResults.mxml of the Selection Widget. I currently have version 4.0.0 of Flex Builder. Thank you for any help you can give, --Adam

Sorry, really basic question. How do I set up the "About" link in my viewer? Hi Justin! It's all in the HeaderControllerWidget.xml. --Adam

Ben, Currently the widget is not coded to allow for reopening but I am looking into the ability to do that. I'll keep you updated. Thank you Ben for thinking of this one, and Robert for considering it. Being able to maintain ONE re-usable splash page is better than having to maintain two. I have configured the About link to show the exact same thing as the original Splash. It would be handy to just make the About link open the Enhanced Splash widget.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has attempted to use the Enhanced Map Switcher widget. There is a reference to "com.esri.viewer.components.Loading" at line 44. I have reviewed that file in my project and in the original Flex Viewer 2.2 source code, and don't see a component mxml with that name in that location. Possibly a new component that the author forgot to add in the package? Thanks, --Adam

Hi Daniel, The widget is based on the FlexViewer's built in search widget, with the addition of Robert's unionGeom function. That function is brilliant as it is client side and so quick. It is definately worth looking at what others have done and reusing there work (if permitted of course). I did think about including graphical selection tools but there were a few widgets that already did this sort of thing, so I decided against it. But yes a select by Graphic option like ArcGIS would be good. I will see about adding one. (I am also happy to include contributions and enhancements from others.) Mark, First - Great Widget! This is what I have been searching for! I would love it if you did add on a select by graphic . Yes, others have done it, but not with anything like the full query builder and spatial select that you have created! 🙂 Cheers! --Adam
