What do you mean by "not hosted or referenced"? If you click the database icon next to the service in Server Manager, what tab is highlighted?

It looks like the dataset was inadvertently published as a hosted feature service rather than a referenced feature service. I would recommend you run through the publishing workflow again, using the parameters specified in your above screenshot, and confirm that the service appears as "Referenced". If this is the case, then the edits should be dynamic as expected.

Based on your above screenshot, that looks like you are publishing the data as a referenced feature service. My only note of caution would be if the data source is not registered with ArcGIS Server. then you may see a warning at the time of publishing indicating that says the data will instead be copied to the server. A good way to check if an existing service is hosted, copied, or referenced is to go to the Server Manager page. If the service is in the "Hosted" folder, it is a hosted service. If the service is another folder it is not hosted. Further, you can click the database icon to see if the service is referenced or copied.

Yes, all functionality available in the desktop version of the extension should be translated to ArcGIS Enterprise when you publish the tools as a geoprocessing service.

According to this post, the new Map Viewer will leave Beta in approximately 3-6 months. My best guess that it would come to the next Enterprise release after that timeframe, though the official timeline for the ArcGIS Enterprise release has not yet been announced. Also, "Future releases of ArcGIS Enterprise will include the new Map Viewer as a fully supported feature once it is released out of beta." from this blog. I know this is vague, but it seems like it is the only information available at this time. -Calvin

Hi Levi, This is expected behavior. If you publish the SDE feature class as a hosted feature layer, you are copying the data into the hosting server configured with your ArcGIS Enterprise organization. Because this is a copy, the hosted feature layer is static, which means that any data updated in the SDE will not be present in the hosted feature layer, and vice versa. If you want the feature layer to be dynamic, then you will need to publish the dataset as a referenced feature service from a registered enterprise geodatabase. For more information, I would recommend that you check out the following documentation: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/server/latest/publish-services/windows/what-is-a-feature-service-.htm Hope this helps! -Calvin

Perhaps I misunderstood the question. How was the cache created? Is the cache stored locally, or did you publish it as a service to ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Online?

Hi Thomas, I couldn't find any explicit licensing information regarding the LocateXT extension for ArcGIS server, but I think we can infer that it does indeed require either the GIS Server Advanced or GIS Server Standard server role. In order to use the LocateXT tools in ArcGIS Server, you need to publish a geoprocessing service. Instructions are here: https://support.esri.com/en/technical-article/000022647 Then, cross-referencing this information with the ArcGIS Enterprise Functionality Matrix, we can see that in order to publish/run geoprocessing services, we need the GIS Server Advanced or GIS Server Standard licensing roles. Hope this helps! -Calvin

Hi Michal, If you go to the ArcGIS Server admin directory and browse to the service, you should see a parameter called " maxExportTilesCount". What is this value set to? -Calvin
