I am working to establish a secure connection between ArcGIS Server and GeoEvent Processor by following the instructions in this Technical Article. My Default Data Store in GeoEvent is not validated, as it failed after I secured the REST service. As you can see, I've registered a second ArcGIS Server connection to the same URL and called it RTCA: The issue is that, while this second data store will validate and allow my GeoEvent Service to function correctly temporarily... When I check on the status of the Service after ~ 24 hours, the fs-poll-in Input will have stopped running and the Data Store is no longer validated. What could be causing this behavior? For what it's worth, the same data store is perfectly valid within ArcGIS Server Manager: (Also, just wanted to say congrats RJ Sunderman on the excellent 2-part series on Inbound/Outbound HTTP Transport in GeoEvent 10.5!) geoevent geoeventprocessor geoevent-extension

It's an external URL but I had the endpoints secured in order to test the secured credentials - you should be able to access that URL (https://test-rtca.cnr.ncsu.edu/arcgis/rest/services) now as I've unlocked the service

I am attempting to add a secured HTTPS service to ArcGIS Online with stored credentials. The issue is that the service is not being remapped to utility.arcgis.com - please see this FAQ for more info. As a result, credentials need to be entered every time the service is accessed in map viewer, web app builder, etc. I have successfully followed the instructions in Configure HTTPS using a new CA-signed certificate in order to configure HTTPS. I then open My Content in ArcGIS Online and successfully add the secure service with stored credentials: However, on the Item Details page, the service has not been remapped: What may be causing this remapping to fail?

Pre-2017, the Crowdsource manager template was accessible via the Item Details page. Now, it is only accessible via My Content. While this isn't a big deal for me personally, I'm putting together a procedure log so that others can reproduce my work, and am making use of the Crowdsource Manager application. Is there some reason it is now only available via My Content? Item Details screenshots: My Content screenshots Thanks in advance! Jason

I have a Fiscal Year Start field in a Feature Class which is shared as a Feature Service in a Web Map > Web Mapping Application (built with Web AppBuilder) workflow. The field must only contain 4-digit years, therefore, I cannot set the field to data type 'Date'. Instead, the field uses a Short Int data type with precision 5 (I set the precision to 4 but ArcGIS automatically changes it back to 5). Here are the field properties: Now, I can go into the config attribute settings in my Web Map and turn off the 1000 separator option. This works for displaying the years correctly in the Web Map. However, this does not carry over to the Web Mapping Application. When I use the Filter widget in the Web Mapping Application, the 1000 separator returns. I initially tried to get around this problem by using a Text field for year input, but that option does not work for this workflow due to the presence of a GeoForm - the GeoForm is where data is entered for the project. The reason a text field does not work is because the GeoForm Fiscal Year Start field must throw an error if a non-4-digit-integer is entered, i.e., FY17, or 17. Essentially then, my question is this - is there a better solution for representing a year in a geodatabase? This ideal solution would do the following: Have data entry limited to no more or less than 4-digits Throw an error if a non-integer was used during the data entry process in a GeoForm Would not use a 1000 separator to display a 4-digit integer in Web AppBuilder Thanks in advance. (By the way, is there a way to change the Error Message of 'Please enter a valid integer between -32768 and 32767.'? I'd much rather it said what the help text says, e.g., 'Enter a fiscal year as the four-digit year...'.)

First, I should say to Allison Muise that the September 2016 update to Crowdsource Manager looks fantastic! - the ability to add a related record works seamlessly - very much appreciated. The application now nearly covers every functionality my client is asking of it - however there's one last hangup. The Search Tool seems to be greyed-out and disabled. Unless I'm making an obvious oversight, this behavior seems to be present both in the Sample application and in my client's version of Crowdsource Manager. Here is the view from the Sample application, And from my client's application: As can be seen, both of the Search tools are greyed out and disabled. Is there a configuration step I may have missed RE: the search tool? Something to do with the layer not being searchable? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Update - Esri employee informed me that the September 2016 update of Crowdsource Manager will allow for both the Adding and Editing of Comments. Exactly the functionality I'm looking for. Will wait until release.

I'm using Crowdsource Polling as a means of entering records into a related table in AGOL. The data model for the application is a series of Projects in a spatial database. Each Project can be related to multiple Milestones (i.e., comments). My client would like to not only be able to add multiple Milestones to Projects - which they can do successfully, but also be able to Edit the Milestones after they have been submitted, within the Crowdsource Polling application. Is this possible to do? Is there a way to configure the application to allow users to edit crowdsource polling comments? I'm hosting the application on my organization's web server, so have full access to the code. Also I'm aware of this code sample detailing how to edit related records in the API, but can't figure out how to implement the feature in Crowdsource Polling. (e.g., what folder do I store the relevant applyEdit function in the application? How do I configure the Javascript to match my application?)

I second Todd's point. The reason field rearrangement is needed at the database level is that it directly affects how fields are displayed in a published ArcGIS Online service. It's possible to waste up to 45 minutes tediously rearranging field orders in ArcGIS Online given more than 20 fields in an attribute table. Securing an order is possible only at the database level, as ArcGIS Online has the conspicuous tendency to rearrange aliases after publishing, seemingly at random.
