I recently updated from 10.2.2 to 10.3.1, and found that ArcMap crashes if you try to sort on a feature class field that has a domain. I called Tech Support to find out that this is a bug that has been "assigned" to a development lead. I really hope that a patch comes out to repair this problem and here's why. Without this functionality, all of my work in ArcGIS Online stops. All work using Collector stops. Editing data with domains in ArcMap is impossible. So, if ESRI wants us to use ArcGIS Online, then they really ought to make sure that long-established functionality like domains works with each new release. I'm wondering why that part of the code was altered in the first place - there has been no problem with domains since 9.0! I find it to be extremely irritating that I have to now uninstall 10.3.1 and reinstall 10.2.2 just so that I can continue my work. When will users be able to trust that a new release will be stable and not have something else as basic as domains be broken???? Two bugs in 10.3.1 are listed below. I also find it unacceptable that some bugs are "closed" and are fixed only in the next release.

ZeZheng, You just need to type several longer sentences to create a paragraph for the Splash Widget. Then Left Justify the paragraph. The goal is to have a left justified paragraph in the Splash Widget that isn't slammed against the side of the frame with no spacing. Before the July updates, this was possible. Below I have included a screen snapshot of a fake sample splash widget with a paragraph and a photo.

After the 2015 July updates to ArcGIS Online, the Web App Builder's splash screen widget formatting is broken. I am no longer able to left or right justify any text because it creates a unaesthetic result. The text hugs the edge of the splash screen box. This behavior did not exist prior to the update.

Bjorn, Yes, the issue still persists. Please see the issue posted by William Rice - this is the same problem. Thanks for taking a look!

Robert, The issue I am experiencing is that I am unable to select the first bolded item in the list at all. The best candidate is not selectable (the only result that does not have link functionality). Perhaps a programming mistake that has been overlooked.

My organization uses our own Composite Address Locator Geocoding Service that has been published to our own ArcGIS Server. Prior to ESRI's July updates to ArcGIS Online, with a Web App Builder Web App, when a street address is typed into the Search text box and the user pauses, the app returns a list of candidates from our Geocoding Service. After this 2015 July update, this behavior has changed without warning. After entering the address, one now has to press the enter key to return the list of candidates. The best candidates, e.g. the candidates with a match score of 100, are highlighted or bolded in black, but the highlighted best results are not selectable.

Regardless, it would be nice if the problem was addressed before, and if not, then the bugs should also be announced along with the fix that occurred. A lot of proclaimed functionality with AGOL is never fully tested, so that responsibility is placed on the backs of customers. It seems like every update fixes one thing and breaks another. I realize that ESRI software is complicated stuff, and for it to always operate perfectly is not possible. But these issues are not well received by paying customers when they are swept under the rug, and transparency is the last priority. When there are issues, ESRI should own them and make them right.

Before the unannounced ArcGIS Online updates about a week ago, the following problems existed with the Web App Builder: 1. The problem mentioned above, that the Attribute Table widget would not show records. See error message. 2. Also, the descriptions on my domains were not recognized. 3. The Filter tool in the attribute table was unable to return to all records after being finished executing an initial query. After the updates, now all of these problems are solved. It's very convenient that ESRI staff contacted this post after the unannounced updates to AGOL.

I am deploying a web map through the Web App Builder and would like to utilize the Attribute Table widget so that people can view the records and export them. The attribute table works just fine in the web map, but in the WAB Application, no records show in the Attribute Table. This is the error message I receive.

Hi there, I am using a web map in AGOL for Collector. I have my web map configured to search in specific fields in three different layers in the map. In the web map on my desktop, I have to select a single layer to search on instead of being able to type anything in to search all of the layers at once. If I have to choose only one layer to search on, then why am I given the option to add more layers? I need data collectors to be able to search all of the layers in the Collector app. Russ, can you help?

Domains and subtypes have been a standard piece of the ESRI geodatabase model for some time now. Either ESRI is going to support subtypes or not, and they need to be transparent about whatever decision they make. Supporting something 50% that has been around for over 15 years does not help the ESRI user. The behavior is "expected" because the time was not taken to correctly code subtype functionality to work with ArcGIS Online. Whatever is shared to AGOL should be able to come back out without being changed, otherwise ArcGIS Online is not a benefit.

I am using domains and subtypes with a feature class that is being edited in Collector. When exporting the collected data as a file geodatabase from AGOL, the subtypes are not retained. The result of the data when viewed in ArcMap is that I only see the subtype codes and not the descriptions. I have defaults set, which is likely the only reason any data shows up at all. Because subtypes only work with short or long integer field types, only codes will show up in the data if subtypes are stripped upon export. Anyone else using subtypes with AGOL and Collector?

I have created a web map in AGOL with a Map Image Layer service coming from my organization's ArcGIS Server, to which I shared from ArcMap. In the web map, I am able to select specific layers that I want to hide in the legend, and suspected that the web map specification should mirror in the application built with Web App Builder. It does not, as I am unable to hide anything in the Legend in the App's configuration steps. Due to this, I have completely omitted the Legend from the app, which is very uncharacteristic of any sort of map making ever. Why shouldn't the web map be the driver of the content in the Application? You might ask: Why do I want to hide layers? I want to hide certain layers because I have duplicates of the same layers to support certain symbology and mainly labeling. The labeling limitations in AGOL are quite significant and can kill a project or a map in many cases. Labeling is such a basic cartographic function that I'm astounded that it's not a bigger priority in AGOL, if that's the direction that ESRI wants to go.
