I don't know how else to title this so please excuse that right off the bat. I have a flex application that all of a sudden switched up in colors on me. Please see image of the awful white controls. Does anybody know which widget, control, xml, etc., this part of the application is for me to take a look at and see why it changed the color on me all of a sudden? Maybe at one point, I got too clicky or careless and either deleted something or typed something within the line of code for that, but I am having a very difficult time trying to revert back to the blue that it was as shown behind the other widgets on the top menu. It also shows plain white as the background (and it should be bluish) for the contents of the widgets as well (see image) Thanks!

I actually figured it out. You helped point me in the right direction though, GisDEV01. Looking at the REST service, I noticed that the field names were all in lower case. I changed them to lower case and now it works. Thanks!

If this doesn't work, can you post a screenshot of your REST Service page for this service? Unfortunately, that didn't work. Thank you, though. I appreciate it. Here's a screenshot of the REST service: 1/3 2/3 3/3

I'm having a difficult time displaying information on layers that I have in my flex viewer application. I have set up the configuration file to show the certain fields in the pop-up, but there are no corresponding information in those fields, even though I know that there are attributes to them. Here it is: Here's the XML for that particular pop-up named PopUp_Parcels.xml: <?xml version="1.0" ?> <configuration> <title>GPIN: {GPIN} </title> <fields> <field name="NAME" visible="true" /> <field name="ST_NO" alias= "STREET NO." visible="true" /> <field name="ST_ALPHA" alias= "STREET ALPHA" visible="true" /> <field name="ST_NAME" alias= "STREET NAME" visible="true" /> <field name="ST_TYPE" alias= "STREET TYPE" visible="true" /> <field name="CITY" visible="true" /> <field name="ZIP" visible="true" /> </fields> <showattachments>false</showattachments> </configuration> <!-- Pop-up configuration file for: http://sampleserver3.arcgisonline.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/HomelandSecurity/operations/FeatureServer/0 See pop-up documentation at http://links.esri.com/flexviewer/popups <field name="STATUS" visible="True"/> --> And here's the section of the config file where I've added this xml: <layer label="My Layers" type="dynamic" visible="true" mode="snapshot" useproxy="false" url="http://..../MapServer"> <sublayer id="3" popupconfig="popups/PopUp_Parcels.xml" /> </layer> Am I missing any steps to get this working fine? Thanks!

Malcolm, If you add it to your viewer as type feature each ArcGIS Server Map Service has a maximum number of records that it returns the 10.x default is 1000 records so this is liekly the situation you are running into. If you use type="dynamic" than you will not have that limitation. Thank you, Robert. Changing it to type=dynamic and then adding sublayer to the code worked! From this: <layer label="Parcels" visible="false" type="feature" mode="snapshot" useproxy="false" url="http://........./MapServer/0"/> To this: <layer label="Parcels" type="dynamic" visible="false" mode="snapshot" useproxy="false" url="http://........../MapServer"> <sublayer id="0"/>

Malcolm, What is the layer type that you are using when you add this to the Viewer? Robert, It's a feature layer.

Do you have the same issue in the ArcMap document? No, the map document is behaving just fine. All the features show up. Prior to publishing, I've previewed it and everything shows up fine. Thanks for your feedback. Hopefully someone else out there can provide additional tips.

I have a Flex Viewer (2.4) application that I am trying to add some layers to. I published a map service of these layers but the problem is that only some of the features of the layers are showing up. With the parcels, for instance, only a few would show up and it's very random which one shows up. Sometimes none shows up at all. There are no queries tied to the layer whatsoever for it to only show some randomly. Here's a little bit of background. I am publishing the map service using 10.1. Right now, I have one layer (parcels) in the map document, but do plan to add more. The layer is set to not show when zoomed out beyond 1:6,000 and in beyond 1:100. I have not set any labels and the symbology is ESRI Optimized hollow. When publishing as a service, I have changed the following and left the rest at default: Parameters: Anti-Aliasing: Fastest (and I've tried others as well) Capabilities: -Unchecked KML and left Mapping Pooling: Minimum number of instances per machine: 0 Processes: Run instances of this configuration: ....(low isolation) Has anybody experienced this issue at all? Please see accompanying image. Please let me know if any of you need more info about my issue. Thanks in advanced!

Malcolm, So now that you have IIS installed and have restarted your computer are your issues still there? Thank you, Robert. I posted this yesterday about my issue: "I was able to get it past the Settings page by copying the exact same path in Web Server Base Folder to Web Server Base Folder URL. I'm sure this can't be right? I've tried putting in every possible path under the Web Server Base Folder URL and was only able to get it to get past the error after doing what I did above. Any thoughts? " I got past the error, although after playing around with it, I've discovered that it's not a solution, so back to square one. The error is essentially unresolved.

Malcolm, So you have gone to "programs and Feature" in control panel (on Win 7) and then "Turn Windows features on or off" and ensured you actually have IIS (Internet Information Services) installed (because it is not installed by default)? This is all part of the getting started documentation: http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/flex-viewer/concepts/01m3/01m300000021000000.htm I actually didn't have IIS on my computer. I had to install it after trying to locate it then and discovered I didn't have it. I don't have Windows 7. I have XP. I do have IIS6 under Control Panel, Administrative Tools. See attached.

Yes, the folder does exist (see screenshot). I tried http://localhost/flexviewers/ , but had no luck. IIS Manager ... ummm, I do not think I have IIS Manager (I looked where it would be for Windows 7). I appreciate your patience, I am a student and this is quite new for me. Any additional suggestions? Thanks! I didn't have IIS Manager on my machine either, but I believe you can download it from Microsoft for free. Read up on it here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2299. Good luck! I hope we can get this working soon...

Hi guys, So does that inetpub\wwwroot\flexviewers folder exist? Might want to change the IP address to the name of your machine. Can you post a screenshot of your IIS Manager directory? Hello, Thanks for your response. The inetpub\wwwroot\flexviewers folder does exist on my machine. See attachment. As for changing the IP address to the name of my machine, I have changed it to that and it didn't work. I even named it "localhost" and it didn't work. I've run out of things that I could possibly name my machine that would make it work. Attached is a screenshot of my IIS Manager directory. It is empty... Again, thank you for your help!

Hello, I'm new to ArcGIS Viewer for Flex so please bear with me. I'd like to keep everything on my local for now while I play around with this tool. I've kept everything to default, and it automatically changed my machine name to its IP address. I'm unable to get it past this. It tells me to "Please check your Web Server Base Folder URL!" Attached is a screenshot. Does anybody have any advice? Thanks in advanced!
