YES! Let the user choose the target attribute for all added links in webapps. Hard to believe that this hasn't been implemented yet..

Hi all! I added some links to a web app that appear on the top of the app. Is it possible to have those inks open in the same tab instead of a new tab. It appears that the target='_blank' attribute is automatically added to the added link, and there's no way to get rid of it. I even checked the json file within Online Assistant. Any ideas? It shouldn't be that hard for esri to implement the option of how to open an added link when putting together a web application. Thanks! Marc Seliger

here's a working example: Cluster however, if you look at the console, i get the error svg.js:43 Error: <circle> attribute cx: Expected length, "NaN". this is because the map draws over 1000 features. If I take out the non-injury accidents, the error disappears, but I have no idea how to fix it. any ideas? Marc

ok, after changing all esri file versions to 3.19, the pop-ups are now behaving as they should. Initially, the versions differed (3.19 and 3.11)

It seems that it works now for me, but I ended up with a slightly different version of the clustering. Basically, I have a bunch of check boxes that determine the query and pass the queryText to the runQuery function. I also declared the clusterLayer as a global variable. The key was to remove the clusterLayer from the map map.removeLayer(clusterLayer); and then call the runQuery function again. This might not be the most elegant coding, but at least it works now. More fine tuning is required regarding icons, map layout, etc... All files are attached in the zip file. Cheers! Marc

Hi all! based on the modified esri example for clustering points I found on GitHub at GitHub - Esri/cluster-layer-js: One example of how to cluster many point features, I'm trying to figure out how to update the map when the query changes. For example, I have a map that shows all 2016 traffic accidents. Everything works fine, points are clustering, etc.. The user should have the option to show only non-injury accidents with the click of a checkbox or button. The query works, but the map still displays all points, regardless of the used (changed) query. I can't figure out how to redraw/re-create the clusterfeaturelayer and show only non-injury accidents. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!! Marc Seliger

Sorry for the late response.. Yes, I was able to resolve this. I changed the settings to http and https, and both urls (secured and unsecured) are working now. Our IT dept. had to make some changes regarding the certificate, I believe that's what was causing the issue. Marc

Hi all! I'm trying to enable the setting 'enable http and https' on our server, and after doing so, I can reach our services through https using port 6443, but I can't access them through http using 6080 anymore. All of our services, maps and applications are based on http and 6080, but now we need one service to be accessed securely through https because of an external application that needs a basemap to be ssl secured. I assume that if I was to enable https only, I would have to recreate all of our maps and point them to service using https instead of http, correct? Any idea how I can enable http and https for now and still be able to access our services through http and port 6080? Thanks for your help, Marc Seliger

Hi all! I know this is a rather old thread, but I'm having the same issue. What helped was to select the features to be traced first, then, after clicking on the trace icon, open the options for tracing (press o key) and enable the option to trace selected features. This let me trace the selected features without any problems. Hope this helps, cheers! Marc Seliger

Hi all! I'm trying to query a related table, but I can't figure out what I am missing. I have a feature layer (buildings) with a related table (contacts for the building), related through the UNIQUE_ID field (buildings) and the Bldg_ID3 field (contacts table) . When the building is clicked, the query is looking for a match in the OBJECTID field in the contacts table instead of a match in the Bldg_ID3 field (foreign key) For example: clicked building has UNIQUE_ID = 254 --> query results in contact with OBJECTID = 254 instead of Bldg_ID3 = 254. I double checked the relationship class in our SDE, and it's fine, it also works in a webbuilder map and ArcMap, but it doesn't work correctly in my javascript app. What am I missing here?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. map.on("click", function (event) {
queryMapClick = new Query();
queryMapClick.geometry = pointToExtent(map, event.mapPoint, 10);
var deferred = buildingLayer.selectFeatures(queryMapClick, FeatureLayer.SELECTION_NEW);
deferred.addCallback(function(result) {
console.log("result ", result[0]);
if (result.length > 0) {
dom.byId("bID").innerHTML = result[0].attributes.UNIQUE_ID;
dom.byId("bDescription").innerHTML = result[0].attributes.DESCRIPTIO;
dom.byId("bAddress").innerHTML = result[0].attributes.ADDRESS;
var relatedQuery = new RelationshipQuery();
relatedQuery.outFields = ["Bldg_ID3","Feature","Name","Phone1","Phone2","Email","int1"];
relatedQuery.relationshipId = 0;
relatedQuery.objectIds = [result[0].attributes.UNIQUE_ID];
// coded attempt.. query won't find any records
// relatedQuery.setDefinitionExpression = "Bldg_ID3 in (10)";
console.log("relatedQuery ", relatedQuery);
buildingLayer.queryRelatedFeatures(relatedQuery, function(relatedRecords) {
console.log("relatedRecords ", relatedRecords);
});
}
});
}); // end map.on Thanks! Marc

Chris, thanks for your reply. The problem is that i need the tool to get the addresses within in the 300 ft buffer AND from the entire subdivision the parcel is located in. So basically combine the buffer and subdivision parcel addresses in one label output. The updated tool offers an either-or approach (please correct me if I'm wrong). The way I have the tool configured now is that it filters out duplicate addresses and any parcels that are city-owned. I could run the new tool twice to get the buffer addresses and then again in order to get the subdivision addresses, but that would leave me with dozens of duplicates. Any ideas? Marc Seliger

Good morning everybody! We have been using the Public Notification template for a while now within our city, and it worked really well to create mailing labels. A few day ago, unfortunately, a new city ordinance demands for people that want to start a home occupation business to not only notify their neighbors within a 300 ft buffer, but also every resident within the subdivision where the home-occ will be located. As of right now, I have absolutely no idea how to implement this added functionality (including parcels of the entire subdivision) with the existing code. Any suggestions, help or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!! Marc Seliger

Jared, yes, it's the basic viewer template. I haven't tried any other templates for this map, and you're right, changing the colors within the configuration doesn't fix the issue. It's not a major problem for us, but it would be nice to have it fixed. Cheers! Marc
