I'm trying to create a service area which shows locations 24 hours from a city. I have a roads dataset which already contained road lengths and to which I have assigned a new attribute, their speed in mph. However, when I build the network the only impedance option is distance. How do I create a dataset where time can be the impedance factor? Thanks

I need to update a database of archaeological features by totally overwriting the existing data with a new dataset. I have an attribute table associated to some points which is all of the data I want to appear in the new table. How do I effectively copy and paste this attribute table into the other table, removing all of the entries which already existed? Also, how do I combine the two tables, so that entries which are contained within both are overwritten, new entries in the attribute table are added to the other and the original table retains all of the other features? Thanks

Hi, I've found that the issue with these tools is that they will work for a maximum of 16 points. I have over 200. Do you know how to get around this without doing them 16 at a time then adding together? Thanks

I'm creating a viewshed for a road which has several points marked along it's length. I want to create a viewshed which shows more than a visible/not visible classification and instead shows how visible the road based on how many of the points along its length are visible from everywhere on the raster surface. If that makes any sense, does anyone know how I might achieve this?

I'm trying to create buffers around buildings which show EM radiation intensity. Currently, I have created simple buffers which show a specific intensity at x metres, accounting for attenuation in air. However, the source buildings are surrounded by other buildings, some of which are shielded, and would therefore cause the radiation to attenuate more quickly. How might I solve this so that the shielding values of surrounding buildings could alter the 'equipotential' buffer? Also, I'm preferably looking for an automated or repeatable system, as updates are likely to be required. Thanks a lot!

I'm trying to open the document which was saved in 10.3, on a computer with 10.2. However it is coming up with an error message saying that because it was saved on a newer version, the .mxd will not open. I know there is an option to save as type in the dropdown. However, I no longer have access to a computer with 10.3 on. Is there another means of making the .mxd open in an older version of the software? Thanks

I'm trying to export 26 pages. All of them export no problem, however they appear in the pdf in order of first number only numerically ascending, aka; 1,11,12....2,20,21....3,4,5. How do I switch this so they will export in order 1-26, or is it something I need to do to the pdf to reorder it. Thanks

Unfortunately not one that I can share due to the nature of the request. It's a piece of infrastructure of which there are several identical features in the extent of the map. I'll take a look at the links you added. Thanks

I've been asked to produce a figure which contains a feature converted to a shapefile from a CAD drawing. The feature has converted to multiple polylines as expected, however, the figure request has specified that the legend should show the shape of an entire feature, (they're many identical things) and not simply a line. Would anybody be able to tell me how I might be able to do this? Thanks

Hi, thanks for the replies. I had used Data Frame properties to clip down to the shape of another layer the shape of the UK. However I have since found another raster which suits my needs better. Thank you anyway, it's always helpful to learn more stuff 🙂

Thanks for the reply. Does this need to be done per census division or is there a way to do it in bulk? Thanks

I have a digital elevation model for a large proportion of the world and have clipped the data frame to only show the UK. However this only accounts for part of the height distribution. Is there a way to remove everything which doesn't fall within UK elevation? Thanks for any help

Hi, I'm looking for preferably a raster which can be edited and reclassified which show population density in the UK. Alternatively, there is a data set available on ArcGIS online but some areas are NoData and I can't reclassify it. Is there a way to make it 'editable?' Thanks
