Thanks for this pointer. And for your other post about how to upgrade to 1.5. Totally missing from Esri documentation.

I'm unable to add a CSV, publicly available at OneDrive, to an ArcGIS Online web map. I had a similar question regarding Dropbox, which was answered here: https://community.esri.com/message/398118#398118 The solution for Dropbox was to make sure my CSV was in my Public folder. (It wasn't sufficient to simply get a link for the file.) Now I have the same CSV in my Public folder at OneDrive here . When I try to Add Layer > From Web > CSV, I get this error: "The layer was not created because no locations could be found." But I know the locations are valid; it's the same file that works okay at Dropbox. Has anyone successfully added a map layer from a CSV or KML file at OneDrive? Thanks, Don

A note for anyone using Klokantech's Tileserver -- You'll need to configure the tileserver.php file from localhost to your domain and the Tileserver folder, like this example: Change this "baseUrls" => array("http://localhost/") to this "baseUrls" => array("http://choptankriverheritage.org/historic_maps/") This fixed the error that prevented me from adding the WMTS to my AGOL map here: https://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=1900ca75fa504ab9a831351a54c17dcb Thanks to Chris for pointing this out.

Chris, Thanks for looking into this. At about the same time as your email, I got one from the developer, who noted a bug in their server app that created this localhost reference problem. (Naming the server folder 'tileserver' -- same as the app name -- causes naming collision). I'll be working this later today. Appreciate your help. Don

I just discovered part of my problem. I was using the URL for a single WMTS layer. This is the correct URL for the WMTS server: http://choptankriverheritage.org/tileserver/wmts It gets the WMTS capabilities (layer list) correctly and sends layers to my map here: https://www.arcgis.com/home/webmap/viewer.html?webmap=1900ca75fa504ab9a831351a54c17dcb It reads the extent correctly, too. But the layers still are invisible. Any ideas? Thanks, Don

We have the option to Add Layer from Web > Add WMTS OGC Service. This is the URL that I add, which fails: http://choptankriverheritage.org/tileserver/1875bw/wmts The error message from AGOL: "The WMTS service, http://choptankriverheritage.org/tileserver/1875bw/wmts, can't be added to the map. It's either not available or you have entered an invalid URL for the type of layer you want to reference." This describes the WMTS: http://choptankriverheritage.org/tileserver/1875bw/WMTSCapabilities.xml This WMTS is generated by Tileserver by Klokantech ( github.com/klokantech/tileserver-php/ ). It claims to be compliant with OGC Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) Both KVP and RESTful version 1.0.0. Can anyone help? Thanks,

Lee, Thanks for taking time to reply. Turns out that I resolved this. I see now that configuring the popup in the map that contains the location points also changes the fields list in the Countdown app. That's what I expected. But I was not seeing the expected results, because fields were covered by the overview map (not to mention some operator error. :-] ) Anyway, the "Search for Frederick Douglass's Birthplace" map app is here, just in time for Black History Month: http://tinyurl.com/searchfd Thanks again.

I see no way to prevent a field in the uploaded data table from appearing in this map template. For example, our users wont want to see the lat/long values. They don't need to see values in the count field, either, since that is already presented by the icon. I thought that configuring the popup in the map at AGOL might change what appears in this app. But I see nothing changing. How can we do this? Thanks.

I cannot get the usual <iframe> with AGOL map parameters to work in a page at the free Wordpress.com . Wordpress says (I think) that it will work. Esri says that it will not. What's going on? Here is what Wordpress says: "Iframe shortcode is the replacement of the iframe html tag and accepts the same params as iframe html tag does. You may use if]ame shortcode to embed content from YouTube, Vimeo, Google Maps or from any external page." (http://wordpress.org/plugins/iframe/) But an Esri blog says it will not work for an AGOL iframe: "Something to keep in mind is that different blogging platforms offer different capabilities. For example, the free WordPress.com blogs do not support embedding ArcGIS Online maps, but if you roll your own WordPress blog then you can. " (http://blogs.esri.com/esri/arcgis/2011/02/09/blogging-with-arcgis-online-maps/) Why is this? Wordpress.com also goes out of its way to explain that it supports Google Map embeds. (http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/) Why Google but not Esri?

Im working with the Countdown map app. I think I understand this pretty well. I edited the config.js file to point to my two maps, and I ensured that my CSV file's fields match the vars in the config file. When I restart the app, the map never appears. The wheel keeps spinning, and after awhile the blank screen shows a balloon that says, "This value is required". I cannot tell what var or value it refers to. Can anyone help? Thanks, Don

Joris, Your historic map is beautiful. I'm trying to do the same thing with a (much less beautiful) historic map of our county in Maryland USA. I've tried several approaches, but in each case, the tiles either do not appear in the web map at all, or only some of them appear. I've used the Share > As Service option. And Share > as Tile Package (following steps in the Help link you cited). I watch the tile creation process through to 100% completion. But the REST Catalog shows that many of the Start/End tiles are apparently missing. Here are my broken hosted tiled services; maybe you will see what is wrong with them: http://salisburyu.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=ba4653a2287a42e78a1f986271cbd807 http://salisburyu.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=9d9a71470a6247db8a0255ed448074d4 http://salisburyu.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=bbe72ed906474d13a1acd344b1c17ef3 Thanks, Don

The Collector App sample/tutorial for damage assessment includes dropdown menus (pick lists) for the mobile app. Other threads in this forum explain that for dropdown menus, you have to publish the map service from ArcMap, with a geodatabase that makes use of subtypes and domains in the fields. The map service is here: http://sampleserver6.arcgisonline.com/arcgis/rest/services/DamageAssessment/FeatureServer/0 Could Esri publish a copy of the damage assessment geodatabase (as file geodatabase?) for all of us to use and modify? Thanks,

We are looking to display multiple points on a map. To best describe this, we want to show one address as it relates to another. For example - a vacation destination (map point) and the address that the visitor resides (map point). We understand layers, but are looking for other examples of showing this data on a map. Suggestions??
