We have a work around for this - I though I should post. Creating a "blank" hosted tiled map service with the same level of detail as your other hosted services and using it as the base map. See here: http://aafc.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=c225cc78d5b142d58eacefae91cc535b James

Hi there, I created a few .tpk's that are 4-10GB in size. The were created using Desktop 10.1 File->Share As->Tile Package. At the time of generation I did not choose to upload them to my AGOL Organizational account. They were created and stored on disc of the local machine. So now that I am satisfied with them I want to upload them. It looks like I have 2 options. Add item - from my computer This method yields this error. Error Unable to load http://aafc.maps.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/users/AgCanada/addItem status: 0 Or The "Share Package" tool in toolbox (logged in as an admin) This method yields this error. ERROR 001147: There is not enough space in your online account to upload the package How do I get a 'large' .tpk in there?

We have disabled the ability to share outside the organization (public) from our AGOL subscription. When I login to AGOL in Desktop 10.1 (as a publisher in that same organization) I still get the option to share with everyone (pubic). If I select it, when the service published and I go back to my content in AGOL the privileges are knocked back to the organization. Ie it wont let me publish to the public. Is this just me? I would like to have users using this desktop publishin flow, not see this public option so that the 'think' that they can share info to the public. Thanks, James

Hi there, The Quarter Section fabric of the each province (or any variation of townships, sections, Legal sub-divisions etc) is maintained by each province, where this type of survey method exists. The Dominion Land Survey method was not the same across the whole country. This was primarily implemented in the prairies. Agriculture Canada does have a product that has the 3 prairie provinces established as a single dataset including riverlots and parishes where applicable. Depending your needs it may be available for distribution. We also provide an external web service that allows people to program interfaces to this layer as a locator. There are a host of reasons why there is not a ready-to-use product. Licensing/maintenance/updates/file size/cost agri-geomatics-agrog@agr.gc.ca James

In the Item details page of a web map that I am owner of (also administrator) I select "edit" and re type a new name. When I push save - the thumbnail diappears and a "please wait" message appears and the application hangs. This also happend when I try and add a thumbnail. Happens in IE8 and FF cached cleared. Love the update - outside of this! Thanks, James

Hi folks, I have not come across the ability to restrict the scale of a web map. For example most of the layers and information I have in the map are national extent and county level detail. Thus an appropriate (and affordable) cache level seem to be about level 11 (Metropolitan Area) - so I do that and everything works slick - But when users are in the web map or the app that contains the web map they can zoom into a larger scale and the information that has been presented from all other smaller scales vanishes because the cache is not there for those detailed levels. What am I missing? If I turn on feature service then I take up more credits, and have to add both the feature and tiled mapservice, because I want to display fast at small scales. I would like to be able to "restrict" the scale level of my web map to (Metropolitan Area) 1:288,895.277 ie so you cannot zoom in further where the cache is not present - or have a way display the map service dynamically at the scales that are not cached? Thanks, james
