Thank you Philip! This is actually very helpful because I needed to find out how survey123 is communicating – via browser or something else. I have deployed survey123 on android phones for field data collection in a remote location in Zambia. The app works great, the issue is that our collectors enjoy the phones a bit too much for facebooking, whatsapp, video streaming and so they run out of data credit and they can't send in their data and we have to go pick up the phones. So i need a solution to lock down the apps in Android so that they can ONLY use Survey123. I have tried these kiosk apps which restrict the phones to only a few apps, but survey123 won't completely work as there seems to be a browser interaction I am not aware of, so it does not let you complete a survey. I have also tried parental controls for kids but those are giving me problems too. I'm sure someone has come across a way to deploy professional data collection devices with Survey123? Can anyone recommend a FREE solution to deploy an android smartphone that is ONLY a survey123 collection device? It must be a free app, as the phones are mostly offline and so these server-based management systems are not really useful in that regard. many thanks! aurélie WWF Germany

please, please provide a way for people to make data OPENLY accessible and downloadable! We have spent weeks designing and launching our ArcGIS Online open data site, hosting large raster datasets on arcGIS for Server...only to find out that the downloaded raster datasets from Open data are only thumbnails - even though the little dropdown clearly says "full dataset." This is awfully misleading! There is currently no way to download full resolution rasters from Open Data looks like a full dataset to me! (nope!) According to Esri: "ArcGIS Open Data gives you a quick way to set up public-facing websites where people can easily find and download your open data in a variety of open formats" "Anyone can use data published on ArcGIS Open Data at no cost. Download raw data and share your insights with your community or build new applications that serve specific users." This is unfortunately not true for raster datasets and if it is not fixed, then users should be made aware that they need to host their datasets (particularly large ones above 1GB) on dropbox, google drive, ftp etc... please, please p#rovide a way for people to make data OPENLY accessible and downloadable in standard formats for people who might not have arcGIS! arcgis opendata agol #data download

I have the same issue - we are hosting data on arcGIS for server (which does not come cheap), sharing it on the open data site publicly, with thousands of people who are all complaining to me that the download is absolutely worthless. This is shocking to me - the drop down menu when you download clearly says "full dataset." What are we hosting then? I have changed the maximum image size request on the server, which people have recommended but this does not work - the download is basically the lowest resolution possible and completely useless. I am absolutely shocked that the open data site is so misleading! It seems there is no way for people to download data without having arcGIS (to open the image service and export it). We work in developing countries, many of which do not have access to ESRI -will we have to switch all our data to a geonode server then? what a headache!

I thought the point of open data was to allow people to access datasets without having to log in to arcGIS Online! How can people download full raster datasets? I have also set the maximum image size request of my service to larger than my raster file, but the download is not full size. I think we have been extremely misled by ESRI Open Data if people cannot access datasets...!

I followed this tutorial to the letter: Geoprocessing service example: Clip And Ship—Documentation (10.3 and 10.3.1) | ArcGIS for Server I want users to be able to view data in a web map, select an area and clip a series of rasters and download the result. Seems like something which should be easy to do but it most certainly isn't! Everything looks good in both the web map interface and arcCatalog on the server in terms of seeing the geoprocessing service, selecting parameters and so on. I can run the geoprocessing on the image services from arcCatalog. But when I try and run the geoprocessing task when it is on the server in both the web app builder interface and arcCatalog I get a wonderfully helpful : Submitted...Executing..Failed. I have uploaded all the raster layers as image services. I have tried them as mosaic first, as raster, as a map service - nothing works. All the data are accessible and viewable on the server via arcCatalog and arcGIS online. This is my geoprocessing service: http://panda.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=3e46ad8e51e247869a6a7821f889f9cd This is one of the layers I want to be able to clip and ship: http://panda.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=fea5d6edbc0646fea33e5034c51c8111 I wanted to download the python code from ESRI but their link doesn't work: Clip, Zip and Ship your image service, using Python | ArcGIS Blog Anyone know what I am doing wrong? many thanks! aurélie

I have the same problem - an error occured while syncing edits and there is nothing to do. So I followed these steps, and everything up to # 5 makes sense for Android...but what is the other stuff below? Why you have to go into AppData/Local/Packages if you just copied the offline folders onto your computer somewhere? Because I don't find this file, so I want to know if this is a necessary step to recover my data?
