hi andrew that's a cool workaround for custom searches in the AGOL apps until something better comes out, thanks. we're already experimenting with some lightweight services for AGOL Org accounts using Arc2Earth, so I decided to build your workaround into a full service without the need for an ArcGIS Server. You point the service back at any Feature Service you have hosted in your AGOL account, set a few options and voila, simple search on multiple feature services. some more info will end up here: http://bit.ly/1cwXu84 cheers brian

are there any plans to create native Phonegap/Cordova plugins for all of your mobile SDKs? The javascript API is a little slow in hybrid mobile apps. clearly if you're developing a widely distributed mobile app, 100% native code is the way to go. however, there are many enterprise-y apps that do not warrant the time/effort for ios/android/windows versions. Phonegap (and new services like AppGyver Steroids) coupled with native CSS transitions are getting really close to native app performance on mid/high level devices. having nice plugins to work with the native SDKs from javascript would be IMO hugely successful. thanks brian

fwiw, several hours after all accounts stopped authenticating, everything started working again yet http://status.arcgis.com/ showed no issues at all. shrug. esri - you are asking developers to build products and services around this platform, more transparency is needed when things go wrong or break internally. AGOL is a complex system, I can accept things like this will occur in the future but it would be a lot easier to deal with if there was some feedback here in the forums or via some paid support channel cheers brian
