I have the same problem - only a brief set of layers (3) were in my Edit list for version 2.4, but now I have all the dynamic layers listed despite explicit exclude statements in the XML. I'm stumped.

Has anyone found detailed help documentation for ESRI's Thematic Query Widget located in the Samples folder of the Flex Viewer? I'd love to use this, but really need some guidelines to understand how to set up the XML file.

Do I need to remove my existing version 2.4 flex viewer before installing and getting started with the Application Builder and version 2.5? If not, will old site still run fine without disrupting the new viewer? Sorry - newbie here.

I just finished setting up my first application with version 2.4 with extensive time invested in all the configurations. Does anyone know if using the new version 2.5 Application Builder allows the user to smoothly migrate all configs/settings of an existing site (at least for the ESRI widgets and main Config.xml) without starting all over again? Is there still a main Config file to simply copy and paste from the existing one? I do not have a separate production/testing machine, so a complete overhaul each time a new version is released is impractical even if I had the time with the rest of my workload.

Another tip: make sure the data source has both read/write access! 😄 Silly me, I struggled with ESRI Tech until we realized the SDE geodatabase wasn't set for updating.

Can any explain what the difference is between Entirely Contained Within versus Intersected by Envelope graphic search options? My results look the same, so it's not clear how they work. Thanks!

Yes! For both my server and desktop there are scrollbars in the Identify results. At least that narrows down the problem to something in my Viewer...

Hi Robert, I just downloaded the latest Flash Player, cleared the Rest Cache, but still do not see scrollbars. I've tested the Flex Viewer on both the server and my desktop, no luck.

Hi Robert, I've attached a screen shot of the Main Config settings - do I need to indicate usage of scroll bars here or in another section?

Hi Robert, I've never had the scroll option. The only way to move down the list of results is to use my middle scroll on my mouse.

Is there a way to enable a vertical scroll bar in the Results in Robert's Identify widget? My mouse has a middle "scroll" button, but other users many not have that capability. The additional results are cut off without a control to let the user see all the contents of the Results. Attached is an example of cut off records...

The output map created from the built-in Print widget sets all text and the map flush to the edge of the page. Is there a way to tweak the XML configuration to buffer the margins a bit and to change the text alignment (e.g., from Left to Center)? This will vastly improve readability! I've attached an example of what the map looks like now...

I am trying to write a script that will simply get (1) a county name and (2) and tax parcel ID. These values (stored as variables) need to be used in a SQL expression for the Select by Attribute dialog. This model needs to run in ArcMap, so I'm not sure if the "input" is correct usage and whether I've properly written the SQL expression to handle the variables (county name, parcel ID). ________________________________ # Import modules import arcpy import sys # Set local variables parcels="Parcels" # Ask user for the County and Parcel ID to search county = input("Please type either WARREN, WASHINGTON, OR ESSEX: ") key = input("Please type the Parcel ID: ") # User selects COUNTY and then Print Key value, Select by Attribute tool runs arcpy.SelectLayerByAttribute_management(Parcels, "NEW_SELECTION", "[COUNTY] = 'county' AND [PRINT_KEY] = 'key'")
