Thanks Vince, the DBMS Version String is PostgreSQL 9.2.2 build 1600 64-bit. Your response prompted me to look into the file versions of all of the assemblies where I found a mismatch between the client library files that I have on my AGD 10.2 client and the files that I have on the PG server. For example, libeay32.dll for my client is 1.0.1.2 and the libeay32 assembly on the PG server is 1.0.1.3. I'll copy those over and try it again. The ST_Geometry assembly is 10.2.0.920

I've recently configured PGSQL 9.2 with direct connect. What I have found is that in addition to copying the st_geometry assembly to the postgresql db directory, I need to run Create Enterprise Geodatabase , then the Create Spatial Types tool under data management / workspace. Then I am able to create a Feature Class, however it treats it as a Query Layer. If I right click on the connection and "Enable Geodatabase". Everything seems to work as expected. This is all in comparison to what I'm used to , with Direct Connections in SQL Server 2008 where a single run of the Create Enterprise Geodatabase tool gets the GDB completely ready for use.

Unfortunately no, we've tried a few ways to work around it. Since our situation only requires two different symbols, we've tried two layers, with definition queries instead of a single layer with category based symbols but it doesn't work very well. The bug states it is fixed in the current build. Although I don't understand what that means. I re-downloaded mobile 10.1.1 thinking they might have fixed it, without incrementing the build numbers but it still doesn't work. I should mention that we have been able to get this working with line features stored in a 10.0 geodatabase. Andrew

Has anyone had problems where Fields disappear in the Edit Attributes window if they were used for basing symbology off of them in the original map document? This is version 10.1.1 MPC with an ArcMap 10.1 map document.

I created a model using the SpatialJoin tool with two Point shapefiles, 1-1, Keep All and Closest that would crash AGD 10 SP2 through SP4. I exported it to a python script in the Arcpy directory and was able to run it without problems in the Python Shell. The model also ran in AGD 10 SP1. I'm running Win7 64bit Andrew

Hi, I've used the Register With Geodatabase tool from the 10.1 python directory to register a SQL 2008 Table with Geometry Spatial Datatype. The table I've registered resides in an ArcSDE Version 10 GDB. I've noticed that once that is done, I am unable to successfully use the Exists function, even with setting the workspace to the SDE GDB and referencing the Feature Class I've registered with a fully qualified Catalog Path. Anyone know of any issues with doing this? Thanks, Andrew

In case anyone runs across this and wants the answer. The Mobile Toolbox tools are not intended to be published as a GPService in ArcGis Server. The built in Mobile Synchronization and Cache creation functionality should be used.

Using ArcGIS Server 10 SP1 - Enterprised Advanced I've published a GPService from a toolbox containing two models. One is using the create mobile map tool and the other is using synchronize mobile cache. When I try to execute or submit job (synchronous / asynchronous) respectively, I recieve errors that the tool is invalid. Error 000816 Code 500. "The tool is invalid" Tools can be run within ArcMap and work fine. My mxd is on a share with the SOC account having modify permissions through share along with change permissions through NTFS security for both map and cache folders. Toolbox is published from a different share with SOC account also having modify permissions through share and ntfs. Does anyone know if using these Mobile Tools in a Published ArcGIS Server GPServer service is restricted or does anyone have any thoughts on why they don't execute? Thanks, Andrew

I was able to fix my problem. Even though my Base Tiled Layer was 102100 and my Feature Service back end data was the same, the polygon was still being drawn in 4326. Rather than projecting it I just switched to 4326 on the data sources and the polygon was inserted as a feature in SDE just fine. Anyone else have any thougths on this subject? Thanks, Andrew

Hi Ravi, thanks for the reply. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I must have missed this when you originally posted. For anyone else that might need to execute a GP tool from the REST link (Simply because its easy to hit the link with a batch file for automation)... Make sure all of your permissions are correct. In my case, the data was stored on a remote server share as a File GDB and the SOC account did not have access to it. The "Parameters are not valid" error was simply because it had no data to load. The solution was to create a duplicate SOC account on the remote server and give it access to that folder. Unfortunately, since the share resided on a NonWindows based file sharing system, it didn't work. We've since abandoned that particular approach. Thanks again for your suggestion. Andrew

Hi, I'm trying to use the drawtool to draw a new polygon then add it to my feature class in SDE via Feature Service. My feature service map has appropriate permissions to insert new features and I have enabled "Feature Service" on my Map Service. My feature class coordinate system is GCS_WGS_1984. I don't want to use EditorToolbar or Template Picker if I can avoid it. I am using the Drawtool "draw end" event to add each drawn Graphic to a global array whith Push, then I am using a save button to initiate the featureservice.applyedits function passing in the Adds array, and null for updates, deletes. When I run, I can draw the polygon on the map, and save. I get a response from the edits complete event with no errors but my features are not in the Feature Class. Alternatively, if I add an array of Geometries from the Draw End event, and pass an array of Geometries in for the applyedits array, I do get features added, however they do not have any shape.area or shape.length and I can't see them on a preview. They get an ObjectID assigned. So, am I using this concept of applyedits correctly or am I assuming it is not as simple as this. Are there other objects that are required besides a graphic? Samples and Documentation all lead you to believe that a feature is nothing more than a graphic. Any help would be appreciated... Thank you. Is there any reason whey a toolbox/arcpy script would work fine when "Right Clicked, Open" from inside ArcCatalog, but when using the "SubmitJob" link after being published to AGS10/REST it fails on the append.
