We never published this since ESRI caught up to us with related table editing in Collector, but prior to the related table editing functionality in Collector we created a workaround using ModelBuilder for monthly volunteer stream monitoring data entry. The monitoring data is stored in a versioned enterprise related table associated with the stream segment feature class, so we created a scheduled model running on our ArcGIS Server to copy the stream segments to a new feature class (to account for stream reaches that may have been added), strip the attributes from the feature class, then create and append an unpopulated copy of the related table as the new feature class attribute schema. Then the new 'edit feature class' would be published as a feature service from ArcGIS for Server to AGOL. Volunteers would then make their (once monthly or quarterly) edits to the feature class attribute table. Then a second model would be run (scheduled monthly for us) to copy the edited feature records, checking a required field to omit any empty records, and then those records are appended to the versioned enterprise related table. It looks like we may need to revisit this workaround until related table editing is enabled in AGOL desktop.

(10.3 Advanced License, AGOL Organizational Admin privileges) I have successfully published editable feature services from our server (SQL) to AGOL but when I try to include these layers in a Web App Builder app to add customization, the feature layers are not visible and the Layers tab indicates there are no operational/editable layers in the map. @ Has anyone else run into/resolved this issue?

We are having private content issues with a webmap that we host as map service on our ArcGIS Server v10.0. None of the layers from our Map Service will load when using Chrome, and IE generates a secure content warning requiring user input prior to loading the layers from our server. I have not had any issues using Safari. Browsing maps with private content has shown that this behavior appears to be relatively common using Chrome. DA

Thanks for the help Mike! This has given me a good start at looking at using JavaScript. Nicholas- If you have had any luck exposing related tables for viewing/editing in the ArcGIS Online platform I would be very interested in the methodology you used to do so. I would like to enable editing of feature classes with multiple related tables in ArcGIS Online for maintaining volunteer stream monitoring data, but I'm no programmer, so any experience you have had would be helpful. Thanks.

I have not tried loading the sample data. However, I have paired down the amount of data that I check out to a workable area, so my most recent axf/background files were only 5MB combined, and I'm not using rasters. My background .shp file is a simple streets layer, and the rest are AXF editable files w/related tables. That's why it's so strange that I'm crashing and getting a LoMem warning since I'm using tiny datasets. Saving the map via "Save As" to the SD card delays the LoMem warning, but it seems inevitable despite a small dataset. My distibutor has indicated they have had problems with 10.0.2 and 10.0.3 and recommended reverting to v10.

I've been trying to use ArcPad 10.0.2/10.0.3 on a GeoXH 6000 series (after years of working with ArcPad 7,8,and 10.0.1 on a Ranger handheld w/trimble backpack), and it simply isn't working properly. On opening a map, the standard toolbars load on the screen and I can navigate between the toolbars (Navigate, Main, Edit, etc.), but none of the tools function and the map window/data frame remains stuck on the 'Choose Map to Open' screen. Other times the map will open properly, but if I attempt to access the layer properties,on exit from the Layer Properties dialogue I get the same issue where the toolbars load but the map frame remains stuck on the layer properties dialogue. I'm not loading large datasets, and I'm using a 4GB SD card to store my maps/data. Has anyone else experienced this behavior and found a solution other than reverting to sp1? I'm also getting the Lo Mem message whenever I save even though I am saving to the SD card. Re-installing ArcPad doesn't help.

If you have more than one field staff entering data in the same feature class during the same minute then you could certainly duplicate IDs. I am the only person at my organization creating and editing our field data, so we have used this method for two years without any duplicates or issues. In the end, it is much easier to manually enter the Julian date instead of relying on or programming ArcPad to create unique IDs. I think most folks here are able to distinguish what will work for their intended application instead of opting for thoughtless hyperbole in lieu of rational consideration....

Richard- If you are not planning to post-process your data with ESRI's GPS Analyst Extension or Trimble's Pathfinder Office software, then you don't necessarily need the GPSCorrect extension. Also, the GPSCorrect Extension does not affect the antenna, only the selection of which protocol is used to decipher the GPS satellite signals received by the receiver/antenna. The real time accuracy you can achieve with the new 6000 series XT should be submeter without post-processing, especially if you are using the external antenna. You can use the TSIP (Trimble Standard Interface Protocol) with ArcPad 10 with no problems. The real question is what type of accuracy does your project require. If you need better than 1-3 feet, then you will want to post-process your data and will need the GPSCorrect Extension plus either GPSAnalyst Extension for ArcGIS or Trimble Pathfinder Office Software to post-process your data. If 1-3 feet is acceptable for your project, save your money and use the TSIP on ArcPad 10 without post-processing, thereby eliminating the need for GPSCorrect and GPSAnalyst/Pathfinder Office.

We simply created a field for out unique ID and enter it manually. So if I was entering the unique ID at the time of this writing, I would simply enter 1107271120 for 11-year, 07-Month, 27-day, 1120- hour. It requires typing with each feature created, but it is simple.
