I am trying to add features when I open up a project, and about 75% of the time it gets stuck with a never-ending pop-up saying "Creating new feature(s)". The item I am trying to edit has a relationship with a separate table, and if I edit that table before creating a new feature, I can add a new feature without problems. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

It has been working up until a little while ago, but my cached tile imagery doesn't show up on any of the PDF generation in the printing widget. I have set it as my basemap, as well as tried it as a separate layer. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

So, just to clarify, I should be able to run it in the future with just a Standard license?

Alright. I am still relatively new to using Python, so I think I will look for an alternative approach. I originally used QGIS to perform the split by attributes, so I might see if I can work that into my Python script. Otherwise, I will use your tool within ArcMap, and automate the rest with Python. Thanks for your help!

Dan, thanks for your help on this. Is there a standalone script available for your SplitLayerByAttributes? Or, would I be able to go in and change it to work in standalone mode? I have some other pieces that I am trying to work into my full Python script, so I kind of need something to run completely outside of ArcMap.

I just looked through the code of the Split By Attributes script, and it is indeed calling the Frequency GP tool. I wonder why they would say that Split By Attribute is available for all levels, when you can't run it without Frequency...

arcpy.SplitByAttributes_analysis("G:\user\Test Publishing.gdb\SmallParcels", "G:\user\Small Parcel SHPs", "SectionName") Here's the relevant piece of my Python code. It fails as soon as it gets to SplitByAttributes. It returns "Available" when running CheckProduct. Also, here's the error I get when it fails. ERROR 000824: The tool is not licensed. I am trying to run this tool, Split By Attributes, in a Python script, and it keeps telling me that it's not licensed. The page says it's available for all levels of ArcGIS Desktop (I am running Standard). I am not sure why it's throwing this error. Any idea on how to get around this?

I have thought about this, and it looks good, so I think I will try something along these lines. I'll have to fudge it a bit, and just set a physical size limit to labelling, instead of relying on ArcMap to handle it for me. This sounds like the fastest and least stressful way to do this, especially when our parcel map changes with splits and subdivisions. Thanks!

I don't think that would really work for us, since we still want to show ownership that fits within the parcel. Otherwise, our table would be too large (we have 3670 parcels).

I am working on a land ownership map for my rural municipality. I need to create a new label class for each section, since I need the key numbering for the labels to reset for each section. I have 324 sections for the municipality, and creating a new label class and key numbering group for each section would be an incredibly tedious and long manual task. Is there any chance that I could create label classes and key numbering groups iteratively using a Python script? Or, is there a way to achieve this outcome in a simpler way? Here's an example of what I am doing. I will convert the labels to annotations, and move the key numbering labels to the left side of the map to act as a legend to correspond to the numbers within the polygons that are too small to label.

I am trying to set up a co-workers computer to allow publishing from ArcMap to ArcGIS for Server. We keep running into an error, and I have no idea why it's happening. I can publish without any problems from my computer, but the error keeps popping up every time I try from his computer. Does anyone know what this error could mean? He can see the PublishingTools service on his computer, but it still refuses to let us publish.

That was it. I don't know why I completely overlooked it. I guess I assumed that the map notes would be created in the same coordinate system as the map. Thanks!

I am trying to set up Map Notes in ArcGIS for some basic sketches of concept plans (parcel splits, building permits, etc.) for one of our administrative assistants, and none of the geometry fields are accurate. The "Shape_Length" field is off by a factor of 1.53, as in it's supposed to be 4.572m (15 ft), but the attributes state that it is 7m. Is this a known issue? Should I not be using the Map Notes for something like this? We are using ArcGIS Pro 1.2
