Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can advise on a best approach here. I have a object id known. Using that object ID i can identify the parcel and get the geometry back. Using the geometry i can get the centroid of the geometry and then calculate the BBOX and do an image export. Most of this i can place in a handler and do through rest calls. So far i have: 1. Use identify rest call to get geometry 2 Get the geometry and from that find centroid 3 From the point construct BBOX 4 Do an image export call knowing BBOX The idea of this is to be able to call this from an external application that is only interested in the image of the parcel. However i am not sure how would i highlight the parcel by knowing the geometry on the image. Any advice? Do i need to revert to using WebADF calls? or do i have a better option? I dont think javascript will do since i need to return back an image to the calling application or image bytes. Sincerely Dan

Hi all, We have also tried playing with MouseEnter and Mouse Leave events and resetting the MapTip Hide delay. Also tried setting this in XAML. None seem to fix the issue. Any advice on workaround or fix? I would be happy even if possible to on mouse enter to show the map tip and dont hide it unless the user manualy closes it. To do that on MouseEnter i set map tip to Visible and do not hide it. However even with doing that the MapTip on mouse leave just dissapears. hmmm. Almost exausted all options 😞 Any advice appreciated.

This is the piece of code: void g_MouseEnter(object sender, System.Windows.Input.MouseEventArgs e) { Graphic g = sender as Graphic; GeoRSSItem maptip = new GeoRSSItem(); Binding bindingTitle = new Binding("[" + "Title" + "]"); maptip.labelTitle.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, bindingTitle); //maptip.hyperlinkButtonTitle.SetBinding(HyperlinkButton.ContentProperty, bindingTitle); Binding bindingLink = new Binding("[" + "Link" + "]"); maptip.hyperlinkButtonTitle.SetBinding(HyperlinkButton.NavigateUriProperty, bindingLink); Binding bindingSummary = new Binding("[" + "Summary" + "]"); DescriptionConverter descriptionConverter = new DescriptionConverter(); bindingSummary.Converter = descriptionConverter; //assigning the description converter maptip.labelHiddenLogic.SetBinding(Label.ContentProperty, bindingSummary); g.MapTip = maptip; //GraphicsLayer.SetMapTipHideDelay(maptip, new TimeSpan(0,0,1)); -- this has been moved to XAML }

We also tried to set it in XAML as you suggested but it doesnt seem to help. After i add the second layer the map tips start missbehaving. This is the code we have for the UserControl used for the MapTip <UserControl x:Class="GeoRSSItem" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008" xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006" xmlns:sdk="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation/sdk" xmlns:esri="clr-namespace:ESRI.ArcGIS.Client;assembly=ESRI.ArcGIS.Client" esri:GraphicsLayer.MapTipHideDelay="00:00:01.5" mc:Ignorable="d" xmlns:divtools="clr-namespace:Divelements.SilverlightTools;assembly=Divelements.SilverlightTools"> <Border BorderBrush="#FF99BBE8" BorderThickness="2" Background="White" CornerRadius="8,8,8,8" Opacity=".8"> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="*"></RowDefinition> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <StackPanel Grid.Row="0">

Hi all, I was wondering if this is still happening? We seem to be still seing the same bahaviour. If we add more then 1 graphic layer with the map tip property then we see some really inconsisten behavior. Like for example the map tip hide delay gets ignored for the second layer. I am not sure why would this be happening? Any advice?

Dear Jennirer, What do you mean by different map tip? Can you provide a code example? I our case we have a user control for the map tip. We instantiate an object and then assign it to the map til. The HideDelay is set once when we load each layer. So if we have 3 layers this is set 3 times. GraphicsLayer.SetMapTipHideDelay(maptip, new TimeSpan(0, 0, 1));

Dear all, We seem to be seeing the same weird behaviour. We are dealing with GeoRss layers using ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Toolkit.DataSources. We can add MapTips and if there is only one layer on the map the HideDelay property works great. But when we add more then one Graphic Layer i.e more then one GeoRss layer then all turns to custard. The HideDelay property does not get honored. This is the code: GraphicsLayer.SetMapTipHideDelay(maptip, new TimeSpan(0, 0, 1)); maptip is a user control. Just a stack panel. Nothing more. Any advice on how we could fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you kindly for that. I did try that and now i can overwrite the CRS attribute to the value of interest. However now there seems to be an issue with the BBOX parameter. It gets writtens as: bbox=11309038.8451793,-3623643.66581829,18891592.0510688,-742273.447580295 instead of: BBOX=-56.7621825020225,72.0160274699255,5.26827435076945,242.929733053682 The change in the source code not to set 3857 is ok. Do i need to do some re projection of the parameters too?

I seem to be having a similar problem. I have a bing maps base map. On top of that i would like to display a wms layer from a meteorological data provider. However it seems that this wms layer does not support EPSG:3857. From testing in the FLEX viewer it appears that EPSG:4283 specified for the same WMS layer will give good enough results. Not exact match but good enough. Is it possible to force a CRS attribute for the WMS layer to be used in the Silverlight application instead of it inheriting the SpatialReference value from the base map of EPSG:3857. Any advice?

Hi dbroux, I had a look at the example but it also has elements placed in xaml. I was more hoping to find an example that will create all the elements in code behind and load the georss layer. Any thoughts?

Hi there, I was wondering if any of those examples for programatically loading an geoRss feed and perhaps using a custom user control available? I am currently stuck loading a geoRss feed and i would like to show an image that is part of the feed together with a custom graphic. Any advice on programatic reading of the georss.

Has anyone played with adding the geoRss layer all programatically let say in C# or VB? I have tried accessing the geoRss feed and i can see in my code behind there are number of features. No map points shown on the map. Do i need to add them manualy and if need be reproject them to web mercator to show? My points on the map dont show 😞 and no error messages shown. A bit confused on how to add the map tips programaticaly. I found an example but all the map tips and icons are defined in xaml code. Also has anyone been able to display images that could be part of the feed on hover over the pin? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all, I was wondering if it is possible to rotate the map view in the FLEX api? I am using the new 2.1 flex viewer. I remember that in the WebADF components there was a rotation property on the map. A dodgy way would be for me to use the data frame property rotation and publish 4 map views with different rotation. But i would have to use dynamic map rendering so i dont waste space. Any advice? Cheers Dan

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone has done anything like this: I have been asked by my user base if it is possible to rotate the map so North is not on the top? Some users are used to looking to an area from a different direction i guess. And they seem to like the idea of google earth to rotate the view. Any advice or ideas? Cheers Dan

After some searching i came accross the IUnitConverter Did something like this: Dim myConverter As IUnitConverter = New UnitConverter() Dim datasetUnits As Double = myConverter.ConvertUnits(meters, esriUnits.esriMeters, esriUnits.esriDecimalDegrees) Would this be the way to go or am i doing it all wrong?
