I've been asked to map our current Sanitation Truck routes, we're trying to see how efficient they are and are considering curbside only pickup instead of the alleys.  I don't have network analyst and I've found a number of places where it is difficult to map areas where there is a lot of retracing of steps so to speak.  You can quickly get lost trying to figure out where the next part of the route is.  I've put arrows on the end of the lines to try to resolve this but there still are issues.  I've also tried using a geometric network but that doesn't really solve my problem.  Has anyone else worked with this sort of routes before outside of Network Analyst?  I'm going to check with other area cities to see what they do for this.

Hey Josh,

I work for a company called C2Logix, and we use a software called FleetRoute to do precisely this. You could even use the software to optimize your sanitation/trash routes based on times, and tonnages as well as other features. We have seen great savings, and have been able to help different utilities. I will send you a private message with more details.

Hopefully this works for you, we would love to help you out.

Thanks for the info, however, I don't really have a budget, I'll respond to your pm.
