Hi,

I have ArcDesktop 10.1 SP 1 Basic. I have downloaded Local Government Information Model (ArcGIS 10.1), and extracted the folder. Inside I have found a html file (data dictionary), PDF (LGIM Release Notes), and an xml document (LocalGovernment). How do I go about installing this product? Can I not utilize the Local Government Information Model (ArcGIS 10.1) due to the fact I only have ArcDesktop Basic? Thanks. - Aaron

The local government information model requires at least an ArcEditor license.

You could technically use it with a Basic license but you wouldn't be able to use the geometric networks and any topologies that may be attached.  You'll have to load your data into the LGIM manually.  Are you currently working with shapefiles or a geodatabase?

To use full LGM, you will need at least an ArcEditor/ArcInfo level license to import the workspace xml. However, you can download some of LGM packages, usually around 200-400MBs and be able to play around with quite of bit of the model in Basic. One you can try is the Address Data Management.
