After I loaded a binary image and added a polyline file and start editing is done. Arcscan toolbar remains grey after that. I tried everything possible.

Do you have the ArcScan extension enabled?

Problem: ArcScan toolbar is disabled

Hi Keerthi,

I'm actually experimenting vectorizition using ArcScan and one thing I Noticed you should make  your feature layer (File Geodatabase or Shapefile)  that stores the vector layer from raster image in editing mode, but also make sure your arcScan tool is activated in the Customize/Extensions menu.

Hope this this verification should help.

Another hint, make sure your raster image has a single band instead of multi -bands RBG. ArcScan doesn't support RBG raster image for vectorization.

Try saving the file in a different directory.
