SiteScan has great tools but is lacking when it comes to creating photo inspection reports.

The lack of detail in the images in the report is due to the fact that the report does not contain a zoomed in view of what the inspector is annotating. Other drone solution softwares like pix4d or Dronedeploy allow the user to annotate images, models and maps and create detailed reports that include a zoomed out and zoomed in view of the defect being annotated. Please look into how this can be done. Otherwise, the automated annotation reports are pretty much useless. thanks!

Status changed to: Under Consideration

Hi @StephanKRAJICEK , thanks for the idea. Improving the inspection workflow is something we are considering. It sounds like you need to be able to provide additional information and context in the inspection report, such as

  • annotations on images in the report
  • ability to adjust zoom level for images in the report

Are there other details you would like to be able to provide on the inspection report?

StephanKRAJICEK

@dozer Yes, that is correct. SiteScan would be very powerful as a standalone inspection software solutions if you could show more detail on the pinned images. Only showing a zoomed out veiw does not give context to what you want to show in the report.

Also, the white only circles and letters associated to annotation in the report are hard to see. This should be something that can be formatted easily (font size, color).

Adding a severity level to inspection reports would be good feature to add.

Being able to add annotations on the mesh model is important as well. This is how inspections are performed using digital twins.

It would be good for the dev team to look at what DroneDeploy is doing for drone inspections reports. Setup a trial account, its free to setup! 🙂

Thanks!

Any movement on this?

StephanKRAJICEK  asks for development in annotations. I would really like to have annotations in the mesh pane, also including measurements. Annotations in the mesh pane will work as an inspection system. Today I need to export screeshots from SiteScan and edit them in another tool.

@NicoBonnafoux  Any progress in developing annotations in the Mesh view?

Hi @HalgeirDahle , the Mesh annotations feature is expected to be available within the next month or so. This includes the ability to make a point inspection similar to how you can inspect on the point cloud today.

Improvements to the inspection report are still under consideration.
