Preface: Running ArcMap, Enterprise, and the RH Extension on 10.7.1 on the latest patches

As part of our Nightly Maintenance Operation, we have a handful of models that do general DB maintenance in this order: Rec/Post all child editor versions up to LOCK_ROUTE, Delete all child editor versions, Compress Database, Create all child editor versions, Rebuild Indexes, then Update Statistics. We have a total of 21 child editor versions that get deleted and recreated each night.
The issue is the Delete Versions and Create Versions models are now taking upwards of 4.5 hours EACH to run! The only thing in the models is a check for whether we are running these in our PROD DB or our TEST DB. Then it runs the Delete Versions or Create Versions tool, depending on which model is running, with the input into the tool for the versions being a String Variable set to 'A list of values' with all the names of the versions. These steps used to be much shorter and have been getting progressively longer over time.
For those that are automating their deletion and creation of editor versions, are you seeing these kinds of times?
