Hi! Welcome to this brand-new community! My name is Laurel Hill. I'm a horticulturist who is adding GIS to my tool bucket so I can better curate living collections at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. I'm new(er) to GIS and it's great to know there's a community of other newbies out here. Hopefully, we can teach and inspire each other! I'm kicking off this community introduction post, so I'll share a picture of sunny azaleas and my dog Coco Bean. I'm glad you're here!

Hi All,

This is Cindy at Denver Botanic Gardens where we are dabbling in GIS, mostly for mapping where we are collecting seeds when on expeditions or from within our own gardens/collections. I'm looking forward to learning more. I come from a horticulture and landscape design background, so while I have a pretty good grasp on using Auto-CAD products, GIS feels like a whole new world of potential. I look forward to learning from others who have been able to harness the power for tracking their living collections/connecting to existing databases.
