  1. When ArcGIS Enterprise is released on Kubernetes, will ArcGIS Velocity be available to deploy in that environment?  In that case how would we reconcile between ArcGIS GeoEvent Server and ArcGIS Velocity?
    1. In the future, ArcGIS Velocity will be supported for ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes.  You will need to choose between deploying ArcGIS Enterprise on Kubernetes to access ArcGIS Velocity or maintain ArcGIS GeoEvent Server.  If the added scalability and resiliency of ArcGIS Velocity, the big data analytics, and the new user interface are beneficial to you, you could choose to replace your ArcGIS GeoEvent Server. 
  2. Can this be customized to bring in types of information for different departments. Like I work with Land and deal with the contracts and need to know lease and surface information. Can we bring in that information from our Quorum system and 3rd party information?
    1. Yes, you can bring in data from your land system to use in this analysis.  A good example would be to spatially aggregate large volumes of historical production data on to your leasehold on a near real-time basis (e.g. every night).  As long as the data has spatial attributes, we can use some of the supported input connectors to bring the data into ArcGIS Velocity.
  3. Is ArcGIS Velocity a single-tenant or multi-tenant solution?
    1. ArcGIS Velocity is offered in both multi-tenant and single-tenant options.  The single-tenant option is called ArcGIS Velocity Dedicated.
  4. Do you have the interfaces with different Scada Companies? to hook up to their data outputs - either RTU's or Meters, etc?
    1. ArcGIS Velocity does not have specific interfaces for working with different SCADA companies.  However, we do support a wide variety of inputs that can be used to create a bridge between ArcGIS Velocity and your SCADA system, such as Azure Event Hub, AWS IoT, Receive on REST endpoint, and more.
  5. Can the outputs be displayed in Portal or a Map Service?
    1. The outputs of ArcGIS Velocity are map services, feature services, and stream services.  These data sources are hosted in ArcGIS Online, but can be registered in your ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.
  6. What out of the box connectors brings the application? In other words, with which real-time data transmission systems are compatible with ArcGIS Velocity
    1. You can find a list of supported input connectors for ArcGIS Velocity here:  ArcGIS Velocity – What is a feed?
  7. How is ArcGIS Velocity licensed?
    1. ArcGIS Velocity is an organization capability, meaning that it is tied to an ArcGIS Online organization, not a specific user license.  It is offered in three sizes designed to address different scales of workflows from small to massive.  Additionally, ArcGIS Velocity can be incrementally scaled up as needed.  See more information here: ArcGIS Velocity Licensing

      Any Creator or GIS Professional User Type in an organization, with the correct permissions, can access and use ArcGIS Velocity.  Any User Type can view the outputs of ArcGIS Velocity, including stream layers, feature layers, and map image layers.
  8. What is the roadmap for ArcGIS GeoEvent Server?
    1. ArcGIS GeoEvent Server will continue to be developed and supported as a real-time data ingestion and analysis product for ArcGIS Enterprise.
  9. What are some examples you see this being used for at companies that only operate offshore?
    1. ArcGIS Velocity can be used to ingest many sources of real-time data and big data for offshore operations.  For example, you could integrate AIS vessels, helicopters, live weather, and SCADA data.  Using real-time and big data analytics, you could detect potential collisions, calculate helicopter ETAs to destinations, alert to inclement weather, and respond to SCADA information.
  10. Can we integrate our own real time projections for propane usage at a location? We do not currently have real time sensors installed but instead use a projection system to determine when a location may need a delivery?
    1. Yes, you can bring in your own real-time projects of propane usage through one of the supported inputs for ArcGIS Velocity.
  11. What sort of stress testing have you done? Is there a maximum events/second? What happens to data if maximum ingest capacity is exceeded?
    1. ArcGIS Velocity Dedicated is able to ingest and process data at 2,500 KB/second (roughly 10,000 events per second) and can be scaled up beyond that.  If your ArcGIS Velocity instance has reached its maximum compute, you will be notified that no more resources are available and will not be able to create more services.
  12. Can you connect or bring the data into Spotfire?
    1. Spotfire has limited ability to consume ArcGIS services, especially those which are secured.  You will find more integration capabilities when using other similar dashboarding and BI tools such as ArcGIS Dashboards or Microsoft Power BI with the ArcGIS for Power BI visualization.
