Since 10.2 we can successfully use our WMTS services in arc desktop. However, if we save an .mxd with layers from password protected WMTS servers (not arc servers, other OGC compliant servers) then the .mxd doesn't behave in a manner that's pleasant when reopened. Examining the requests emitted show an incessant stream of 401 not authorized errors.
If we connect, or reconnect from the catalog window before opening the .mxd, all is well. But that's not the flow, so, all is not well. Has anyone else seen this?
