Exemplary System Award - 2016 KAMP

This award is to recognize outstanding GIS or mapping programs in the state of Kentucky. One award will be presented each year. A program can only be awarded the ESA every five years. The awards committee will make recommendations to the KAMP Board for selection. The Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals is online at kampro.org – Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals 

In 2016, this award was given to LINK-GIS, a GIS partnership that began in 1985 as a simple tool for one county agency to use in an environmental cleanup has become a game changer for Northern Kentucky. Today, LINK-GIS, the PDS planning agency’s information portal, serves Kenton, Campbell, and Pendleton Counties as an enterprise GIS platform that has vastly improved how government services are made available to the community, in a smarter, more efficient way.  LINK-GIS is used daily across 3 counties and 36 municipalities in Northern Kentucky.
