Hello

I am having trouble with adjusting the address text on our Main Map that is viewed through out our offices.

I tried to change the address in the attribute table but it will not let me.

Please see attachment- I simply need to add a "A" after 25.

What am I missing?

I am using 10.6

Thank you

Hello Chris-

Yes in theory I am the SDE Admin- I could use all the help I can get.

Regarding Maintenance, I been trying to get a definitive answer at to what I need to do.

We are looking for proposals for a outside company to help with maintenance that can't be done in house.

I know that there tools that run python scripts that handle some maintenance things, but hesitant to just run them without some knowledge of how they work.

Regarding a new post- what forum would you suggest?

Thanks Chris

Some ideas (some new):

  • Contact ESRI Support to get a basic understanding of what needs to be done.  They may also be able to line you out with some processes and what level of effort will be needed to learn this and to keep it operational.
  • If you have a budget to work with, see about taking a class related to SDE Administration.  Example:  https://www.esri.com/training/catalog/57630436851d31e02a43f1d5/building-geodatabases/    https://www.esri.com/training/training-for-individuals/
  • Also, if you have budget, there are consultants out there who can set this up for you and train you.  Private firms, plus I believe ESRI has consultants also.
  • Put posts on GeoNet along the lines of titles like "SDE Administration/Maintenance" or "How do I get started doing SDE Maintenance".  However, given the complexity of SDE and its many combinations,  my guess would be one would need some specific training, so using GeoNet as an information source may best be used for after you learn some of it, then run into issues when trying to apply what you learned.  Also, be sure to tag posts with this GeoNet group so as to get the most direct input on your questions:  Geodatabase
