Does my license expire a year after the create date or the authorization date?  We have licenses that were purchased but do not need activated for several months.  Does that mean once they are activated they will only be able to used for a few months?

Hi Leah - i would contact your distributor or Esri Customer Service - they should be able to tell you when your license expires

Hi Leah,

Your licenses will expire 1 year after they have been delivered.  The licenses under your account are set to expire on 08/05/2020.  Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Thank you

Ana

So much for acquiring things when it is convenient but using them when you want to.

Seems to be a pattern in the industry (eg. Microsoft products).

It isn't an issue if you renew at the end of the first cycle, but not so good on initial acquisition

If you have an ArcGIS Developer Network Subscription (a.k.a., ESRI Developer Network) any developer licenses you create/provision will have an expiration date of 1 year. The date goes from the 'date purchased' + 365 days.

If you need perpetual licenses then you would purchase a traditional license.
