I had a disk crash and have to install Single User ArcGIS on another computer. Could not re-activate because "Maximum extra activations exceeded". How do I deactivate all previous activations.

You will have to contact Tech Support for license issues.

To deactivate all previous activations of ArcGIS on your crashed disk, you typically need to contact Esri Customer Service directly. Here’s how you can proceed:

  1. Contact Esri Customer Service: Visit the Esri Customer Service portal or call their customer service number. You can find this information on the Esri website under Support or Contact Us sections.

  2. Explain Your Situation: Explain that your previous computer had a disk crash, and you need to deactivate all previous activations because you couldn’t deactivate them manually due to the crash.

  3. Provide Necessary Information: Be prepared to provide details such as your ArcGIS license information (serial number or authorization number), your contact information, and any other details they may require to verify your identity and ownership of the license.

  4. Request Deactivation: Specifically request them to deactivate all previous activations associated with your license so that you can activate ArcGIS on your new computer.

  5. Follow Instructions: Follow any instructions they provide, which may include steps to deactivate through their customer portal or other means.

Esri’s customer service team is generally very responsive to such requests, as they understand that hardware failures can necessitate reactivation on new machines. By directly contacting them, you should be able to resolve the issue of exceeding maximum activations and reactivate ArcGIS on your new computer.
