I am using Windows & Professional. ArcGIS 10.1 SP1. No changes in my system.

This error happens when I click on Description tab in ArcCataloge to see the metadata or in catalog tree in ArcMap when R.Clicl on the data and click on Item Description.

This error appears for any data.

Try resetting the ArcGIS application profile, if that helps.

Might have to resort to a software repair. It looks like something has got a bit twisted.

Method 3:

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

BUSE İBŞİROĞLU‌, thank you for your help. It took me a long time to figure out what the problem was. The .net caused the error but it was not the source for the error, it was some fonts those LastWriteTime where very very big caused the error. I deleted them and the error was gone.

The article is describing the error.

Thanks.
