Can you change the layout view page size? Currently, when you enter the layout view, the map space equates to an 8.5 x 11 size page, which is a standard piece of paper. However, I would like to design maps in the layout view in different sizes and export them in that size. For example, I am wanting to design and export maps that are 11 x 17 page size. Is this possible?

If this is for ArcMap, in the Page and Print Setup dialog (under File), you can set the paper size

Or use the layout toolbar and switch your layout to one of many canned choices ESRI has provided for you, including 11x17.  You can build your own and save them into your personal directory (C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ESRI\Desktop10.0\ArcMap\Templates) and switch to them at any time.  You still have to properly setup your page/print options as mentioned above.
