Image service timeline?

When will image service capabilities be on par with map viewer classic?

Example; adding an image service with the REST service URL and being able to perform image analysis or use raster functions.

Our goal is to have initial support for image services at the end of the year. I don't have an exact timeline for the complete on par functionality at this time.
