We've had comments from a few people that the default symbology used in the Select widget (blue outline with blue transparent fill) isn't appropriate for what they are trying to do. Often they want a simple outline with no fill or in a different colour. However there is no option to be able to change this (either by the user or through admin settings).
Can there be a way for the user to change the symbology in the select widget, so they can change the outline colour, fill colour, transparency etc?
For example, could the symbology options from the Draw/Measure panel be incorporated into the Select widget somehow? (see picture for an idea)
Yes! Often I'm getting asked how to print a map with a property selected without having the whole inside being blue.
Hey @MarlboroughDistrict_Council and @TaupoDistrict_Council this is very cool and yes agreed, incredibly useful to make sure the feature in question is selected in a colour that makes sense for the users purpose. We have had a chat about this and how it could work - its been added into our backlog for the team to review for a release. If you know of anyone else that might be keen on this idea, get them to vote so we know!
Definitely interested in this idea!
This is asked of us by our users too.
Ah here it is! +1 from us and +1 form Hurunui (the other side of our information services shared service)
Just another +1 from Hurunui post-LocalMaps 2.3 launch, a user asked about this today and we'd be keen on being able to change the selection symbology. In smart maps 1 the selection default was yellow, which is a less commonly-used colour in our symbology than the light blue default as it currently is, which tends to clash with our 3 waters layers.
@GISOfficer @Alison_Grant @KDCGIS - great, thanks for your feedback! I have added your votes to our internal log of this enhancement 🙂
