https://community.esri.com/docs/DOC-13641-arcgis-pro-roadmap-july-2019 has it in the mid-term which wouldn't put it in Pro 2.5.  It is definitely being worked on, but I wouldn't set the expectation that this is for 2.5.

UPDATE 8-18-21  The convert features to/from graphics is planned for ArcGIS Pro 2.9 scheduled to be available towards the end of the year.  I hope this update helps those who find this thread.

Hi Ole,

From my knowledge, and after searching through the documentation and doing some testing on my own, the functionality of converting graphics to features in ArcGIS Pro does not yet exist. You can, however, add graphics directly to your map document via the Map Notes layer templates accessible from the Insert tab.

Based on the ArcGIS Pro Roadmap, it does look like further map graphic changes are in the works, so this might be a good thing to add to the Ideas page here on GeoNet if you'd like for it to be implemented in the future.

Thanks,

Colin

I believe graphics will be supported at the next major release of Pro (2.5), but this is not set in stone as per the following thread which has been on-going for 4.5 years:

Other posters on the thread are also looking for graphics to feature conversion capability, but this might not be included in ESRI's first release for support of graphics in Pro.

@KoryKramer I tried to use the graphics to features but it appears I can't use a graphic from my layout?  It only gives me the option to browse for a graphic and I'm not sure how to save a graphic from my layout?  Am I missing something?

Hi Johanna,

The tool converts a graphics layer (in a map) to features. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/conversion/graphics-to-features.htm

https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/graphics-layers.htm

Graphics on a layout have no relationship to map space; they are just graphics on the page so it wouldn't make sense to convert them to features.

Hope this helps.

Update: The ability to create graphics layers will be coming in ArcGIS Pro 2.6.  There is more discussion on https://community.esri.com/ideas/10410 earlier in April.

The ability to convert features to graphics and vice versa will not be in 2.6 but is expected to come in a subsequent release.

Thank you!

Hello,

ArcGIS Pro 2.7 is released but "Convert Graphics to Features" and "Convert Features To Graphics" functionality is still not implemented there. This is one of the missing part that long-standing ArcMap users need and it would make ArcGIS Pro more equivalent to ArcMap.

Thank you!
